Tom Hall a Goner

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

In one of the last hands before the last break we spotted Tom Hall's seat vacant. Mustapha Kanit told us what had happened.

Kanit opened from the cutoff and Hall three-bet the button. Kanit called, and then check called a bet on {4-}{4-}{10-}. Kanit checked again on the {Q-Diamonds} turn that brought a flush draw and Hall bet again. Kanit check raised all in and Hall folded, leaving himself with about 50,000.

Hall's final hand was one where he got it in with {A-Diamonds}{10-} on an all diamond flop. His opponent had {A-}{A-} and faded the diamonds and runner runners on the turn and river.

Andrew Bassat Doubles Up With Quads

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Double Up
Double Up

We caught the action with Andrew Bassat all-in for 88,000 pre-flop holding {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} against his opponents {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Seeing what he was up against, he stood up from his chair and started collecting his things.

Miraculously the Dealer revealed the flop {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and he quickly sat back down again. The board completed {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to give him quads and a timely double up.

Dunst Drops One to Hong

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On one of the first hands after the break Ryan Hong raised to 9,000 and Tony Dunst three-bet from the small blind to 26,000. Hong made the call and the flop brought out {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

Dunst bet 28,000 on the flop and Hong made the call, after which the {9-Diamonds} hit on the turn.

Dunst checked on the turn and folded when Hong bet 33,500.

Dunst Doubles Into the Chip Lead

Tony Dunst on Day 2
Tony Dunst on Day 2

In the last hand before the break, a huge had took place between WPT Raw Deal host Tony Dunst and Jean-Pascal Savard.

It happened when a player raised from early position and Savard three-bet to 22,000 from middle position. Action folded to Dunst in the big blind, and he opted to pop it to 55,000. The original raiser folded, and Savard thought for a bit before he made the call.

When the flop came down {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Dunst led out for 48,000 and then snap-called off for 242,000 total after Savard moved all in.

Savard: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Dunst: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

"Do you fold kings there?" asked Savard, who was looking to flush up with a diamond.

"Vomit call," replied Dunst, meaning he would have called with kings but wouldn't have been happy about it.

As it was, Dunst was in the lead with top set. The {A-Clubs} turn, while it paired Savard, changed nothing, and neither did the {2-Spades} river. Dunst successfully dodged a diamond and doubled though the big stack.

Hachem Can't Win with Flopped Set

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

From the cutoff seat, Joe Hachem raised to 7,000. Sinan Aydogan called from the big blind, and the flop fell {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Aydogan checked, Hachem bet 9,000, and Aydogan called.

The turn was the {6-Spades}, and both players checked to see the {4-Diamonds} complete the board on the river. With an eight-high straight on board, both Aydogan and Hachem checked.

Aydogan showed the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}, and Hachem had the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Hachem had flopped bottom set, but thanks to the run out, both players chopped the pot with a straight.

Quoss Wrong Against Wang

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Michael Wang, who won his first bracelet this summer in the $5,000 freeze-out ($466,120), raised it up from early position. Fabian Quoss made the call from the small blind.

Quoss check called a bet of 11,500 on {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and check called another 25,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn.

The river came the {2-Clubs} and Quoss checked for the third time. Wang asked to see how much Quoss had behind (174,000) and bet 57,500. He stared down while Quoss tried to make up his mind.

Quoss cut out calling chips, and eventually placed them in the middle after about 3 minutes in the tank. He wouldn't get those chips anytime soon as Wang tabled {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} for the flopped set and turned full house. Quoss mucked.
