Engels Doubles Through Koren

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Shortly after Sam Steindl doubled up through Daniel Engels, the Austrian faced the raise of Artur Koren for 25,000 and moved all in from the button. Koren asked for a count and tanked before committing 188,000 chips to look up his opponent:

Engels: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Koren: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Engels doubled right back but remains below average.

Steindl Doubles With Aces

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

"I only looked at one!" Sam Steindl said with a smile. He had just shoved all in from the cutoff for 87,000 and Daniel Engels in the small blind had looked him up. Whether Steindl was telling the truth remains to be seen, but he was the heavy favorite going in:

Daniel Engels: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Sam Steindl: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Steindl doubled.

Egan Ousted in 45th Place

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tony Dunst raised to 22,000 from the hijack and was met by a three-bet to 53,000 from Michael Egan on the button. Both blinds folded and Dunst moved all in. Egan snap-called off for roughly 370,000 and the cards were turned up.

Dunst: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Egan: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

It was a flip, but Egan needed some help to stay alive. The {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop didn't hit him, but it did give him some counterfeit outs. The {3-Hearts} turn meant Egan could also win with the fourth three, but none of his outs hit as the {4-Hearts} blanked on the river to send him out the door in 45th place.

Daniel Reijmer Loses Ace-King to Ace-King and Busts in 47th Place

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Reijmer
Daniel Reijmer

Daniel Reijmer made it 23,000 from early position and his neighbor Artur Koren three-bet to 60,000. Action folded to Samantha Abernathy on the button and she three-bet to 165,000.

Both blinds folded and action was back on Daniel Reijmer. He shoved all in for around 425,000 and Koren folded just about instantly. Abernathy wasn't the happiest person in the world, but she did toss in a single 1,000-chip after about 10 seconds.

Daniel Reijmer: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Samantha Abernathy: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

What was destined to be a split pot, with a slight edge for Reijmer as his ace-king was suited, ended up a whole lot more exciting on the {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop.

The {10-Diamonds} on the turn immediately sealed the deal for Abernathy and Reijmer got up from the table to make his exit. The {7-Diamonds} on the river was there just to make things official, it couldn't and wouldn't save Reijmer who collected AU$25,000 for his 47th place finish.

Kuo Busts Yang

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

After a raise it was Renjun Yang shoving all in from the button for just under 100,000 in chips. Kitty Kuo in the small blind four-bet and the initial raiser gave up.

Renjun Yang: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Kitty Kuo: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The flop came {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Kuo took the lead. The {4-Diamonds} gave Yang a flush draw and he asked the dealer politely for a diamond. He got what he asked for, but it was the wrong one as the {9-Diamonds} gave Kuo quads.

Yang survived the AU$5,000 bubble and made his exit in 48th place, earning him AU$25,000.

Bassat Builds it Back Up

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Andrew Bassat was among the big stacks for most of Days 1 and 2, and after a tough stretch he's among the biggest stack again as he just sent Umut Picakci to the rail.

In a blind battle Picakci ended up all in for 160,000 versus Bassat in the big blind, and the showdown went as follows.

Bassat: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Picakci: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Bassat fist-pumped as he clearly was extremely happy with his kings holding up.

Abernathy Takes from Reijmer

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Daniel Reijmer raised to 23,000 from early position and Samantha Abernathy called from the button. The blinds both folded and it was heads-up action to the {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, which they both checked.

The {4-Hearts} turn was Reijmer check-call a bet of 50,000 and then he check-called one of 90,000 on the {6-Clubs} river. Abernathy rolled over the {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flopped straight, and Reijmer mucked.
