Another One

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

It's break again for the players. The remaining 180 of the 207 registered return to the Crown poker room in 15 minutes.

Huang Takes a Hit

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player sitting under the gun opened the action with a limp and Bryan Huang, sitting under the gun plus one raised to 900 in total. After the action folded around the under the gun player made the call taking the action heads-up to a flop of {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Following his opponent’s check, Huang fired out a bet of what looked to be 1,100 and was called to bring both players to the {4-Hearts} turn.

With a heart flush now possible both players checked and the river came down a non-heart {k-}. The under the gun player opened for 2,000 and after some deliberation Huang made the call, only to pitch his cards into the muck when his opponent turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a rivered two pair.

Gill Folds Ladies

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Oliver Gill has increased his stack size from the last time we checked but has just taken a little bit of a knock at the hands of a tablemate.

Preflop it was Gill who opened the action with a raise to 575 from middle position only to see an opponent sitting to his direct left three-bet to 1,575 in total. After the action folded around Gill made the call taking the action heads-up to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Gill check-called his opponent’s 1,500 continuation bet and the dealer burned and turned the {k-Hearts}. Gill checked for the second time and his opponent led out for 3,700 with roughly 35,000 or so behind.

“That’s a bad turn, but maybe it saved me,” quipped Gill, who open folded {q-}{q-}.

Trickett Wins Another

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Sam Trickett appears to be playing his rush and has just taken down another pot. Preflop Trickett opened the action to 600 and was called by an opponent in the cutoff.

Both players checked the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop and the {a-Hearts} turn before Trickett led out for 1,000 on the {5-Diamonds} river, which was enough to get his opponent to give it up leaving the Englishman to rake in the 1,400 pot.

Pignatelli Puts the Pressure On

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Ryan Pignatelli is stacking some newly acquired chips after pushing off his opponent in a battle of the blinds.

On the {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop the player in the small blind checked it to Pignatelli in the big blind and he fired 5,600 into an already bloated pot. The bet was met with a call and the {7-Hearts} arrived on the turn.

The small blind checked again and Pignatelli continued the aggression with a bet for 14,200. His opponent shot him a suspicious look but couldn’t commit, releasing his hand and awarding Pignatelli the pot.

Trickett Eliminates Oibermann

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

The player in middle position raised to 600 and was called by the player in the hijack. Sam Trickett then bumped it up to 2,100 from the cutoff before Nick Oiberman committed his remaining 5,550 from the button. The action checked back to Trickett who completed the call.

Trickett: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Oiberman: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} to see Oiberman unable to improve as he hit the rail.

Laak Details Were Lacking

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Phil Laak
Phil Laak

Phil Laak was one of the first players to get eliminated from the tournament but up until now, details had not been available. We just spoke to Chance Kornuth who was still sitting at the table Laak started at.

Kornuth told us that Laak check-called a bet in a three-bet pot on {J-}{10-}{2-} before both Laak and his opponent checked the {3-} on the turn. A {9-} completed the board and Phil Laak check-called all in for 10,700. His opponent showed {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the nut straight and Laak mucked before getting up to leave the tournament area.

Chip Counts

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

We can't see David Gorr anywhere in the tournament area and his seat is empty so it looks like the 2011 Aussie Millions Champion may have busted.

Clock Called, Not Granted

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

As we arrived, the board was already out in a pot between Rainer Kempe on the button and the player under the gun. With {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} on the table, Kempe had all of his 34,500 in front of him, as well as one of the all-in triangles.

The shove appeared to be for around pot and the player under the gun was in the tank. As we arrived, Rainer Kempe had just asked for the clock. The floor came over, asked the dealer if a lot of time had passed, and did not put the clock on as soon as he was told it hadn't been that long just yet.

It didn't matter for Kempe as his opponent folded not much later.
