Reina and Long Bust; Mason Doubles

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Over on the feature table the live stream has caught up on the elimination of Barry Long. Down to 52,000 he shoved the small blind with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Bobby Zhang in the big blind called with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The board came {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Long failed to get any help.

Giuseppe Reina lost the remainder of his short stack with {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} against the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} of Beau Palmer on a board of {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Craig Mason doubled his short stack for 34,500 after shoving the button with the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Stefan Huber snap-called in the big blind with {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} but the kicker advantage kept Mason's hand best on the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} board.

Setup Topples Michaelis

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Paul Michaelis
Paul Michaelis

In a classic setup, Paul Michaelis has found his Waterloo at the hands of Martin Jacobson. Holding {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, Michaelis was preflop all in against Jacobson's {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. The German wasn't able to dodge Jacobson's blades and he made his exit shortly before the end of the second level of the day.

Ho Bluffs Off a Chunk

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Small blind Duy Ho check-called 21,000 from Jamie Sadlier on a {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop. They each checked the {9-Hearts} and Ho craned his neck to see Sadlier's stack when the {7-Diamonds} double-paired the board. He then jammed, putting Sadlier at risk for 66,000.

Sadlier said he needed a second and got up, walking away from the table before he was called back and told he couldn't abandon his hand. He sat back down and flicked in a call. Ho showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a bricked draw and Sadlier excitedly slapped {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} in.

"I was never folding," he confessed afterward.

Lim Wins a Small One

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Aaron Lim raised to 6,500 and Ken Demlakian called out of the big blind. The duo checked through the {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and the {J-Hearts} turn. On the {9-Hearts} river, Demlakian bet 17,000 and Lim eventually called. Demlakian shook his head and tabled {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a bluff, while Lim had the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

"It was actually worth it for me to see that you finally have a hand."

Kings Are Good

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Anthony Luong and Giuseppe Reina were all in preflop for nearly equal stacks. Luong was the one at risk for 70,000.

Anthony Luong: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Giuseppe Reina: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The dealer fanned out {6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Luong doubled up.

A couple of tables over, Lee Armstrong raised to 7,000 in early position and Michael Tchong called. Ize Bourne shoved 51,000 all in from late position, Armstrong isolated and Tchong folded.

Ize Bourne: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Lee Armstrong: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Once again, kings remained in front on {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Bourne received some breathing room.
