Fedor Holz Eliminated

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

In the first level of the day, Fedor Holz' run in the Main Event has come to an end. As he made his way to the exit, we quickly approached him to ask for details on his bustout.

According to Holz, after Con Krousoratis had raised he called from the small blind with {A-}{9-} and the big blind called as well. The flop was {Q-}{9-}{6-} and Krousoratis bet 11,000, with Holz being the only caller.

The turn was an offsuit {2-} and Holz checked. Krousoratis bet 25,000, which was for nearly all of Holz' remaining 30,000 or so stack. The German prodigy stuck the rest in and Krousoratis added the few extra chips.

"Well, he had pocket queens," Holz said with a chuckle, meaning that the river was irrelevant.

Holz added that he will be back for the $100,000 Challenge, which will commence on Sunday, February 4, before making his way to the exit.

Saijes Mundadan: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

The flop was a good one for Mundadan coming {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and he clapped his hands together in celebration as the {7-Spades} turn and the {3-Clubs} river were dealt.

Pettersson Binks, Eliminates Two

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Darryl Lapthorne shoved all in early for 25,500. Action folded to Jan Pettersson, who announced a call in the small blind. Alessandro Furneri raised to what looked like 79,000 in the big blind. Pettersson peeled and they saw a {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop.

Pettersson led out for 100,000, Furneri shoved all in immediately for about 160,000 and Pettersson called just as fast.

Pettersson: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Furneri: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Lapthorne: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The turn was a {9-Clubs} and the river a {2-Hearts} and Pettersson collected on the double knockout.

Lewis Doubles Through Clarke

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

A preflop raising war saw Toby Lewis all in and at risk for his last 130,400 and table neighbour James Clarke looked him up with the dominating hand.

Toby Lewis: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
James Clarke: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop gave Lewis the lead with a pair of queens and Clarke vaulted out of his seat in disgust. Neither the {10-Clubs} turn nor the {9-Hearts} river changed the outcome of the hand and Lewis scored a vital double.

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Paul Michaelis has been nurturing the short stack since halfway of Day 2, doubled up earlier, dropped down again, but found another double-up just moments ago. Down to 42,100, Michaelis stuck it in and got a call from Matt Salsberg in late position.

Paul Michaelis: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Matt Salsberg: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and a fist-pumping Michaelis ran over to Andreas Klatt one table over to celebrate.

Riehl Busts in Setup Fashion

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Ludovic Riehl
Ludovic Riehl

"The French guy won't have fun today, every time he opens he gets three-bet and now his three-bet is getting four-bet," Jonas Lauck said while watching the action unfold on his table. Rob Raymond had opened and Riehl three-bet to 15,500 from the cutoff only for Raymond to four-bet for 42,000. Riehl moved all in for around 124,000 and Raymond called instantly with the slightly superior stack.

Ludovic Riehl: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Rob Raymond: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

The board of {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts} brought no help for the Frenchman and he was eliminated.

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Besides the feature table, two other tables have flop cameras for spectators to watch the action on the table and one of them just had an all in showdown. Over on table 31, Yosuke Sekiya four-bet all in for what appeared to be 110,000 and Arne Ruge in the blinds quickly called.

Yosuke Sekiya: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Arne Ruge: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Ruge dodged the straight and flush draw to send Sekiya to the rail.
