Tedeschi Chips Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player opened to 1,000 and Paul-Francois Tedeschi defended his big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Tedeschi check-called 1,800.

The pair checked the {6-Diamonds} turn and the river was the {5-Spades}. Tedeschi bet 4,225 and his opponent folded.

"With Ace-high I would call," said his opponent and Tedeschi nodded.

Strang Busts One

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

The cards were all but rushed away and the pot was shipped to Errolyn Strang, who sent her table neighbor to the rail when her {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} held up versus {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} on a ten-high board. Strang jumped to nearly three times the starting stack, Michael Gathy and Dzmitry Urbanovich have chipped up to very similar amounts on nearby tables.

Much Drama About a Split Pot

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jeremy Pekarek has been ramping up the aggression and was involved into almost the entire action on his table, also engaging in table chat with Yew Tong Khaw. The latter folded once and soon after the duo clashed again.

With the flop showing {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Pekarek bet 3,500 into 8,000 and Khaw raised to 15,000. Pekarek jammed for more than 100,000 and that sent his opponent into the think tank.

"This is the big pot we were waiting for, let's get it in," Pekarek said in table chat.

"You got a hand? Do you have a set?" Khaw asked back, then called off for more than 50,000 total.

Yew Tong Khaw: {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Jeremy Pekarek: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The split pot was already guaranteed and one player on the table joked "were you trying to slowroll him?" while the board completed with the meaningless {3-Clubs} turn and {10-Clubs} river.

Wong No More

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jerry Wong
Jerry Wong

Jerry Wong had grinded a short stack for quite some time before the dinner break and wasn't able to build his stack further when they returned to the tables.

Just now, a multi-way pot to the {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} turn brought a bet of 1,500 by Damian Oklobzija in the small blind and Wong jammed his last 10,000 in from early position. The action folded back to Oklobzija and he made the call.

Jerry Wong: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Damian Oklobzija: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The kicker played for Oklobzija, as the {7-Clubs} on the river failed to improve Wong.

Tedeschi Gets it Right After Lengthy River Tank

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Paul-Francois Tedeschi opened from under the gun and Eui Kim called in the blinds. Kim check-raised a {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop to 3,500 after a 1,000 continuation bet from Tedeschi and the turn was the {5-Spades}.

Kim bet 4,500 and Tedeschi called.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and Kim bet 20,000. Tedeschi repeatedly opened his hands and gestured towards his hand while thinking over his decision. Eventually after around four minutes the clock was called.

After 20 seconds or so Tedeschi then slammed his chips into the middle to call. Kim showed {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a full house - threes full of sixes - but Tedeschi had him beat with {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} - fours full of threes.

Kim Takes Another Big Hit

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

As smooth as the start of the day had been for Eui Kim, as cruel the last few minutes turned out to be for the Canadian. In a preflop raising war, Miguel Capriles ended up all in for 22,625 out of the big blind and both players flipped over pocket pairs.

Miguel Capriles: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Eui Kim: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Capriles doubled to leave Kim on just over 11 big blinds.
