Cox Doubles Through Karita

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a four-way flop of {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, the action checked to Dean Cox and he bet 1,900. Amanda De Cesare called on the button and Shoshiro Karita check-raised out of the small blind, making it 5,300 to go. Cox shoved for the last 10,850 and De Cesare folded, Karita called.

Dean Cox: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Shoshiro Karita: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Yazbeck had some outs and immediately improved with the {K-Spades} turn. The river was the blank {4-Hearts} and that secured the double for Yazbeck.

Gill Waxes Lyrical After Lodge Flop Raise

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Oliver Gill
Oliver Gill

Oliver Gill opened to 900 and got called in two spots by Billy 'The Croc' Argyros and Harry Lodge on the button. Gill continued for 2,100 on a {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and Argyros folded before Lodge raised to 5,800.

"I'm trying to think of any hands that raise this flop out of all the hands," said Gill to Lodge after thinking for 30 seconds or so.

"Sounds to me that you're folding," replied Lodge.

"It sounds to me that I'm folding, but folding here is so bad," said Gill.

He thought a while longer.

"I mean it'd be pretty sick if I was to raise you here, I've done that before," said Gill.

"I don't see it happening," said Lodge, before Gill folded.

"Nittiest fold I've done in a long time," said Gill. "If I told you I folded aces, would you believe me?"

Hachem Two-Outers O'Connor Out of the Main Event

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
James Hachem
James Hachem

James Hachem opened to 1,200 and got three callers from the button, Kieran O'Connor in the small blind and the big blind.

The flop came {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. It checked to Hachem who continued for 3,500. O'Connor then check-raised all in for around 16,000. The two players folded and Hachem made the call.

Hachem: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
O'Connor: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Hachem had fallen foul to the set of O'Connor and was in dire need of help to avoid doubling his opponent up. The turn was the {a-Hearts} but the river {q-Hearts} gave him a bigger set and he sent O'Connor to the rail.

Lin Moves Up the Leaderboard

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Celina Lin
Celina Lin

Celina Lin had won a big pot with a full house prior to the dinner break and continued right away when returning to her seat. David Leas opened the button to 800 and Lin called from the big blind. On the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Lin checked and called a first barrel worth 875 before doing so again for 2,475 on the {4-Clubs} turn.

The {J-Hearts} appeared on the river and Lin checked the third street in a row. Leas now made it 6,600 to go and Lin gave it some thought for well more than a minute. As soon as she called, Leas slid his cards into the muck and forfeited the pot.

Ashley Sleeth
Ashley Sleeth

On a {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board a player was all in with {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for top pair, but was drawing dead against the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flush of Ashley Sleeth.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Sleeth added yet more chips to her stack. She now sits on over 80,000 in chips which is more than double average with just over two levels remaining in the day.

Nguyen Moving Up; Wakeman Thriving

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Minh Nguyen was moved one table over from Matthew Wakeman and both Aussie have increased their stacks as of lately, in the case of Wakeman he more than doubled while crazy action unfolded on the other side of his table.

As for Nguyen, he chipped up without showdown when check-raising the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} river from 5,500 to 18,500 out of the big blind. Nguyen only had 7,500 behind, and his opponent reluctantly folded.

Aces Cracked to Bust Karamalikis

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jonathan Karamalikis
Jonathan Karamalikis

Yuri Ishida opened from under the gun and Jonathan Karamalikis three-bet all in for 7,000. Ishida called.

Ishida: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Karamalikis: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Karamalikis was ahead and the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} held no scary cards, but there could be a few scary turns with Ishida holding backdoor straight and flush draws. However, the turn was the scariest card of them all for Karamalikis as the {10-Hearts} gave his opponent a set. The river was the {8-Clubs} and filled up Ishida to bust Karamalikis.
