Small Double for Rodrigues

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Manny Rodrigues slipped to a stack of around 25 big blinds and was all in on a {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades} turn with {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

His opponent had called with {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} but Rodrigues was standing and sweating a pivotal river. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Rodrigues fist-pumped as he secured a vital double late in the day.

Argyros Agonizes Over All-in Move

Billy 'The Croc' Argyros
Billy 'The Croc' Argyros

On a {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop Billy 'The Croc' Argyros checked to an opponent who over-bet the pot of about 5,000 by sliding out a bet of 11,000.

Argyros then check-raised all in for 34,600. His opponent thought, asked for his initial bet to be pulled in, and thought a while longer.

Argyros buried his face in his hands as his opponent mulled things over before flicking his cards into the muck.

"Fold," said someone at the table, and a relieved-looking Argyros lifted his head and collected his newly-acquired chips.

Cruel River Sends Boskovic Packing

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

On a {6-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts} board, Dejan Boskovic moved all in for around 14,000 and was called by opponent Ning Zhang.

Boskovic: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Zhang: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Boskovic had the nut straight but was praying that the board didn't pair on the river.

"Fuck!" said Boskovic loudly, getting to his feet just in time to see the {a-Spades} roll off on the river to give Zhang a full house.

Former Champion Nelson Eliminated

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

According to tablemate James Hachem, former Aussie Millions Main Event champion Lee Nelson has been eliminated from this year's Main Event in brutal fashion.

Holding {a-}{10-} he was all in against an opponent holding {6-}{6-}. The flop came {k-}{10-}{10-} giving him trips, but the {6-} turn flipped things in his opponent's favour and the river bricked to send Nelson home.

Long Clinches Day 1b Chip Lead

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Wang Yi Long already had around 150,000 and was a strong contender for the end of Day 1b chip lead. On a {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board he bet 15,100 and his opponent quickly called.

Long turned over {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a set which was good enough to take down the pot as his opponent flung their cards into the muck.

He now sits on just under 180,000 in chips and is probably the chip leader.

Stay tuned for a recap of the day's action.
