Anthony Kingston Eliminated in 14th Place (AU$82,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Anthony Kingston
Anthony Kingston

Anthony Kingston moved all in for 205,000 from the button and was looked up by Mike Del Vecchio.

Anthony Kingston: {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Mike Del Vecchio: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop gave both players a pair coming {2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the turn {7-Diamonds} improved Kingston to two pair as he looked to stay alive in the Main Event.

The river, however, was the {2-Spades}, counterfeiting the at-risk player and sending more chips Del Vecchio's way as Kingston was eliminated in 14th place for AU$82,000

Jam and No Call

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Andrew Hinrichsen raised to 70,000 and Bryn Kenney three-bet the button to 210,000. Matthew Wakeman four-bet to 435,000 to force out Hinrichsen and Kenney then jammed to claim the pot without resistance from Wakeman.

Over on the other outer table, David Wang opened to 70,000 and Robert Glasspool three-bet to 280,000 in the big blind, Wang called. On the {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, Glasspool shoved for 545,000 and Wang folded.

Michael Egan Eliminated in 13th Place (AU$82,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Egan
Michael Egan

Clinton Taylor raised and instantly called the shove of Michael Egan from one seat over with both players holding near identical stacks.

Clinton Taylor: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Michael Egan: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The board came {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the stacks were counted. Taylor had been all in for 910,000 and Egan had one ante more.

In the very next hand, Egan was forced all in for 5,000 and Taylor raised to isolate.

Michael Egan: {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Clinton Taylor: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop gave Egan an open-ender, but the chip and a chair miracle never came with the {5-Diamonds} turn and {10-Clubs} river both being blanks. Egan has been eliminated in 13th place and takes home AU$82,000.

Otani Pays Off Ostby Before the Break

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Norihiro Otani opened from the button and got calls from Bjorn Ostby and Hamish Crawshaw in the blinds.

The flop {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} was checked by the three players and the turn was the {a-Clubs}. Ostby bet 125,000 and Otani was the only caller.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Ostby bet 175,000. Otani called but mucked when Ostby showed {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for top pair.

The players are now going on a 15-minute break.

Kenney Takes It on the River

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Gyeong Byeong Lee opened to 90,000 on the button and Bryn Kenney came along from the big blind. The {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop was checked by Kenney and he subsequently called a bet of 75,000 by Lee. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn was checked and Kenney's bet of 115,000 on the {7-Hearts} river forced a fold from Lee.

On a {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop Bjorn Ostby check-called 100,000 from chip leader Mike Del Vecchio and the pair checked the {9-Diamonds} turn.

Taylor Takes Two

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Gyeong Byeong Lee opened to 100,000 and was called by Matthew Wakeman in the small blind and Clinton Taylor in the big blind. The {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop was checked through and Wakeman bet the {10-Hearts} turn for 180,000, only Taylor called.

On the {8-Clubs} river, Wakeman checked and reluctantly called a bet of 75,000 by Taylor. He was shown the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for trips eights and that won the pot for Taylor.

Wakeman then opened to 80,000 in the cutoff and Taylor came along from the button. Lee three-bet to 400,000 in the big blind and it was Taylor who stuck around. The {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop went check, check, and Lee check-called a bet of 275,000 on the {A-Clubs} turn. No betting action followed on the {3-Hearts} river and Taylor showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for aces up, Lee mucked {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

Norihiro Otani
Norihiro Otani

In the first major confrontation at the feature table since play was down to two tables, Mike Del Vecchio opened and Norihiro Otani three-bet from the blinds to around 250,000. Del Vecchio moved all in and Otani called for 975,000.

Norihiro Otani: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Mike Del Vecchio: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

There was to be no upset on the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} run out and Otani doubled to around two million in chips.
