Greg Heaver Eliminated in 12th Place (AU$123,000)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Greg Heaver
Greg Heaver

Greg Heaver raised to 100,000 and Hamish Crawshaw three-bet to 300,000 from the small blind. With the action back on Heaver he four-bet all in for just over 1,500,000. Crawshaw called.

Greg Heaver: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Hamish Crawshaw: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Since the elimination of Simon Chahine in 15th place, Crawshaw has been the crowd's favourite and his rail has been singing his praises for the last half a level.

However, they were stunned when the flop came {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} giving Heaver a set. But they soon found their voices on the {k-Hearts} turn giving Crawshaw top set.

The river was the {2-Clubs} as both players hugged and shook hands, with Heaver heading to the exit in 12th place for AU$123,000.

Wakeman Gets Shorter on Outer Table

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Bryn Kenney raised to 85,000 on the button and was called two ways by Matthew Wakeman and Clinton Taylor in the blinds. On the {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, Wakeman checked and Taylor bet 205,000, Kenney got out of the way and Wakeman called. The {Q-Spades} turn was checked and Wakeman check-folded the {2-Spades} river after mulling over his decision for some time when facing a bet of 375,000.

Kenney didn't slow down and raised once more, Gyeong Byeong Lee called in the big blind. Lee checked and called a bet of 100,000 on {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} but folded the {10-Diamonds} turn when Kenney barreled for another 245,000.

Hamish Crawshaw

On a {10-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop Hamish Crawshaw checked to Norihiro Otani who bet 75,000. Crawshaw check-raised to 210,000 and Otani three-bet all in for 1,845,000.

Crawshaw had 1,419,000 behind and took his time thinking before committing the chips to the pot.

Otani turned over {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for top pair and a backdoor nut flush draw, while Crawshaw held {q-Clubs}{9-Spades} for top and bottom pair.

The turn {6-Clubs} and river {8-Hearts} were clean as Crawshaw held to double to just under three million in chips.

Taylor Takes Two

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Gyeong Byeong Lee opened to 100,000 and was called by Matthew Wakeman in the small blind and Clinton Taylor in the big blind. The {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop was checked through and Wakeman bet the {10-Hearts} turn for 180,000, only Taylor called.

On the {8-Clubs} river, Wakeman checked and reluctantly called a bet of 75,000 by Taylor. He was shown the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for trips eights and that won the pot for Taylor.

Wakeman then opened to 80,000 in the cutoff and Taylor came along from the button. Lee three-bet to 400,000 in the big blind and it was Taylor who stuck around. The {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop went check, check, and Lee check-called a bet of 275,000 on the {A-Clubs} turn. No betting action followed on the {3-Hearts} river and Taylor showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for aces up, Lee mucked {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.
