Ribeiro Rising; Jattin Dropping

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Richard Johnston in the small blind checked and was the only one to call a bet of 3,000 by Farid Jattin on the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. After the {6-Diamonds} turn, Johnston checked once more and called a second barrel worth 5,700 before they ended up checking through the {k-Hearts} on the river.

Jattin turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Johnston had the best of it with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

In the meanwhile, Tomas Ribeiro has completed his rise to the top of the leader board by sending Oliver Weis to the rail.

Lehmanski Eliminates Higgs

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante
Sam Higgs
Sam Higgs

On a {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board Sam Higgs checked to Farid Jattin who bet 5,700 and Maxi Lehmanski re-raised. Sam Higgs moved all in for 11,500 and Jattin folded. The cards were then turned over.

Sam HIggs: {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Maxi Lehmanski: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

The turn {a-Clubs} improved Lehmanski to a wheel and the river {4-Clubs} changed nothing as Higgs was eliminated.

More for Rivera; Lehmanski and Jattin Join

Level 5 : 400/800, 0 ante

Marc Rivera raised the pot to 2,800 soon after the blinds had gone up and he was called by Miroslav Sheynin in the big blind. The flop fell {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Sheynin checked. Rivera tossed in a continuation bet of 2,500 and that's all it took to win the pot uncontested.

In the meanwhile, a new table opened as last year's runner-up Farid Jattin and Maxi Lehmanski had joined the action to boost the field to 43 entries.

More for Ajez

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante

Najeem Ajez called a raise to 1,200 by Quan Zhou and Martin Kozlov raised it up to 5,100, which Zhou and Ajez called. On the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, action checked around to Ajez and his bet of 4,200 was called only by Zhou.

After the {3-Spades} turn, Zhou checked and a bet of 24,000 by Ajez shut down all further resistance.

Watson Doubles Through Yang

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante

Martin Kozlov raised to 1,500 and was called by Quan Zhou, Shao Me Yang, Najeem Ajez and Mike Watson. The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and the action checked to Yang, who bet 6,600. Only Watson called and check-called another pot-sized bet of 23,700 on the {a-Spades} turn.

After the {2-Diamonds} river, Watson check-called all-in for the last 15,100 and Yang tabled the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}, which Watson had beat with {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

Shak Eliminates Smith on Very First Hand

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Dan Shak joined the field during the break, and on his very first hand he got into a pot with Dan Smith.

On a {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board, Shak bet the pot to around 13,000 and Smith thought for a moment. "I'll put it all in," said Smith before moving all in. Shak quickly called.

Dan Smith: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Dan Shak: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Smith had top pair along with a flush draw and a gutshot straight draw, but was drawing thin against top set, nut-flush draw and open-ended straight draw of Shak.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and there was a pause before it was determined Shak's set was good and Smith was eliminated.
