Ribeiro Falling

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

On a {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop Tomas Ribeiro check-called 1,400 from Hun Lee and the turn was the {4-Diamonds}. Ribeiro check-called a further 4,000 and the river was the {7-Spades}.

Ribeiro checked and Lee bet 11,500 into a pot of around 13,000. Ribeiro tanked before eventually calling. Lee showed {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} having flopped the nut straight and took down the pot.

Van Hoof Rises Further

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Sebastian Trisch check-called a bet of 3,100 on the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and checked the {q-Spades} on the turn. His sole remaining opponent, Jorryt van Hoof, then fired a second barrel worth 7,000 and that was enough to force a very quick fold by Trisch.

The same table also features two of the latest entries in Roman Valerstein and Dan Smith.

Smith Latest Entrant in A$25,000 Pot Limit Omaha Challenge

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Dan Smith has a stellar record at the Aussie Millions, with over A$1.3 million in cashes. The majority of this came after winning the 2012 A$100,000 Challenge after defeating Mikhail Smirnov heads-up to top a 22-player field.

He followed that up two years later with a runner-up finish in the A$25,000 Challenge, which is also his last cash at the Aussie Millions.

Now six years later, can Smith make another High Roller Challenge deep run? You'd expect him to play more than just the A$25,000 Pot Limit Omaha CHallenge, but this constitutes the American's first chance at taking down a ANTON Jewellery championship ring.

Lamb's Stack Cut Down by Amiri

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

On a completed board of {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Ben Lamb checked from under the gun and Ehsan Amiri on the button made it 4,000 to go into a pot of 14,450. Lamb raised the pot and Amiri eventually called.

Lamb very briefly showed his cards in cluding the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} but Amiri had the best hand with {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a set of jacks.

Johnston Takes From Weis

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Oliver Weis raised to 900 and Richard Johnston three-bet to 3,000 in the small blind, which Weis called. The {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop brought a continuation bet worth 3,500 by Johnston and Weis called.

Both opted to check the {7-Clubs} turn and Johnston also checked the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Weis cut out a bet of 10,800 and mucked to forfeit the pot when Johnston called to essentially even out the stack sizes.

Watson Wins Small Pot

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Quan Zhou raised to 900 and was called by Mike Watson on the button and Martin Kozlov in the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and the action checked to Watson, who bet 900. Only Zhou came along and the {3-Diamonds} followed on the turn. Zhou checked and Watson now tossed in a pot-sized bet by throwing in a single T-5,000 chip.

Zhou double-checked his cards, shook his head and opted to fold.
