Burns Busts Zhang

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ben Zhang got his stack of around 100,000 in with the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Simon Burns made the call with the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} on the button.

The {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop gave Burns a set and the cherry on top was the {10-Clubs} turn for quads, the {8-Diamonds} river a mere formality.

Quoss Flops Best to Bust Abela

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Fabian Quoss defended his big blind against a raise by Paul Abela and the latter ended up all-in for around 80,000 on a {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop.

Paul Abela: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Fabian Quoss: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts} turn and the {2-Clubs} river brought no help to Abela and he headed to the payout desk.

Post Dinner Casualties

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Rahul Melwani, Simon Carter and Kahle Burns departed in quick succession. Burns had survived the bubble with six big blinds and was all-in for two big blinds with {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}, Chi Zhang called with the {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and remained ahead.

Russell Thomas was more fortunate and doubled for 47,500 with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} against the {a-Spades}{8-Clubs} of Pete Chen thanks to a board of {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

Jouhkimainen Knocks One Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

David Hackenberger jammed for about 60,000 and was at risk with {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} against Joni Jouhkimainen on his left, who had a dominating {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop improved Jouhkimainen's opponent to a pair of nines, but no further help emerged for him and he wished everyone good luck.

Barone Doubles Through Yockey

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Giovanni Barone shoved for about 45,000 in middle position and Bryce Yockey called on his left.

Barone: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Yockey: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop improved both but Yockey fell behind with eights. The {k-Diamonds} turn left Yockey in need, and the {5-Diamonds} river didn't do it.
