With 424 players already entered after the opening flight, organizers knew not only that a big field was expected but also that they were well on their way to breaking the record. A steady stream of players throughout the day saw them break the 800 player mark in the fifth level of the day.

By the end of the seven levels that were scheduled, Kazuhiko Yotsushika appeared to bag the biggest stack, with 252,200, slightly ahead of Kahle Burns (231,700) who was another player to bag above 200,000 in chips.

Also bagging were former champions Toby Lewis (79,400) and Tyron Krost (19,200) and defending champion Bryn Kenney who ran up a stack to bag 106,300.

"I love the city," Kenney told PokerNews. "I love the tournament, plus it started the whole year for me last year. It was a great time, and it was a fun tournament. Not just because I won, but because everyone was super fun to play with."

Other players advancing to Day 2 include Erik Seidel (171,100), Dan Shak (124,600), Kristen Bicknell (111,100), Mikita Badziakouski (87,500), Timothy Adams (84,700), Steve O'Dwyer (59,000), Ben Lamb (56,000), Alexander Trevallion (52,400), Jesse Sylvia (52,000), Allen Kessler (21,200), Orpen Kisacikoglu (14,100) and Dan Smith (12,500).

Players who busted during Flight 3 included WSOP POY Rob Campbell, reigning WSOP APAC champion Scott Davies, Michael Soyza, Tsugunari Toma, Michael Dyer, Sam Greenwood and Matthias Eibinger.

Day 2 of the Aussie Millions Main Event gets underway at 12:30 p.m. on January 20, with a further five 90-minute levels scheduled. Stay tuned to PokerNews for continued live updates including the Day 2 seating draw, prizepool and payouts.

Final Three Hands

Jan_Kores • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

The tournament staff announced the last three hands of the day. The remaining players will bag their chips thereafter.

Burns Crosses 200K

Jan_Kores • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

In a juicy pot, Kahle Burns was seen shoving on the {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} river from late position. His opponent called for last 40,000 or so and Burns showed him {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a straight. Burns' hand was the best as the other player mucked and Burns reached to his left to scoop his neighbor's stack.

Bicknell Forces Out Opponent; Yotsushika Still Going Strong

will_shill • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

Kristen Bicknell opened to 1,400 and called a raise from an opponent to 4,400.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Bicknell checked. The pre-flop raiser bet 5,000 and Bicknell check-raised to 15,000. After a short tank, this was enough for Bicknell to take down the pot as her opponent folded.

Meanwhile, Kazuhiko Yotsushika is continuing to chip up even in the latter stages of Flight 3.

Lew on Losing Side of a Flip

Jan_Kores • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

Randy Lew and his opponent got it in preflop and Lew tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, hoping for high board against {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The {q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades} runout, however, missed Lew's hand completely and he had to concede 26,500.

Jetten and Koren Tangle in Four-Bet Pot

Jan_Kores • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

Peter Jetten made it 1,500 in early position and a player in the hijack flatted. Artur Koren squeezed to 6,000 out of the big blind and action was back at Jetten who countered with a 16,000-reraise. The player behind him got out of the way but Koren matched the bid.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Koren checked to Jetten who fired a small bet of 7,000. Koren called. They both checked the {q-Spades} turn.

Koren checked again on the {4-Clubs} river and Jetten made it 32,000. Koren tanked for about two minutes and then threw his cards away.

Jan_Kores • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

Jack Salter ended up all in preflop for his 39,200 and he couldn't pick a better hand to get his money in with. He showed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} while his opponent turned up {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The board rolled out {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Salter finished with a straight to claim the 80,000-pot.

Lewis Raised Out of It

will_shill • Level 7: 300-600, 600 ante

Tatjana Zizic raised under the gun to 1,300 and got four callers including Toby Lewis in the big blind.

The four players checked the {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop and the 2018 Main Event champion bet 1,500 on the {3-Diamonds} turn. Zizic called and the river was the {q-Spades}.

Lewis bet 1,500 against and Zizic raised to 5,000. Lewis quickly folded.
