Vanari's Luck Runs Out

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Tim Vanari
Tim Vanari

Vanari has had a volatile time during the last few levels of play, seeing a number of double ups himself but also passing plenty of pots across to his opponents at the table.

In his most recent hand, Jun Wen Ooi opened to 100,000 from under the gun and Vanari moved all in on the button for his remaining 600,000 chips. There was little hesitation from Ooi, and he called off Vanari's remaining stack, putting him at risk of elimination.

Tim Vanari: 88All in
Jun Wen Ooi: AQ

Vanari found himself in another flip, and needed to hold to stay alive but the Q109 flop saw Ooi instantly improve.

There was some hope of a straight for Vanari, but he missed on the 10 turn and K river, seeing him crash out of the tournament in 21st place.
