Benson Does It With Ease

Without even looking up from his newspaper, Gary Benson fired out 1,200 on the river with the board reading {2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

His opponent went into the tank and made the call. Benson flipped over {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for the straight to collect a nice pot and goes back to enjoying his newspaper!

Saint Eric?

Eric Assadourian
Eric Assadourian
Eric Assadourian has claimed another victim, this time holding pocket jacks to win the race against his opponent's A-K.

Amazed at the success of Assadourian, Billy "The Croc" chirped following the hand "Eric, which church do you go to? I wanna go there too!"

Assadourian Eliminates Nelson

Eric Assadourian and Lee Nelson have just tangled in a huge pot that has sent Nelson crashing to the rail.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Nelson checked the first action over to Assadourian who made a bet of 1,000. Nelson then check-raised to 3,500 and Assadourian announced he was all in. Nelson made the call and the cards were flipped:

Nelson: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Assadourian: {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Nelson held top two pair but Assadourian had a monster draw. The {5-Spades} on the turn didn't change much but the {Q-Hearts} on the river gave Assadourian his flush to now assume the tournament chip lead!

When You're Hot...

Jamie Pickering can't seem to do anything wrong at the moment.

After winning Event #4 and final tabling in Event #7, Pickering is also looking good in today's event after just pulling down a huge pot.

Pickering held {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and got his money in on a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. He held top pair but was still trailing the pocker kings of his opponent. The turn was a blank {2-Clubs} but the river brought the {8-Spades} to give Pickering a straight.

Richard Ashby Runs Into Trips

On a flop of Q-Q-T Richard Ashby is forced into a tough decision as his opponent moves all in for around 2,500 chips. Ashby tanks before making the call and tables pocket jacks. However he is in bad shape against his opponent's A-Q.

Ashby can't find a miracle jack on the turn or river, and he's down to around 4,000 chips.
