Powell Takes Some Chips from Wroblewski

Anna Wroblewski opened the pot with an 8,000 raise from under the gun and when the action got around to Julian Powell, he kicked it another 15,000. Anna laid it down, but the price of folding was costly, as she was left with just 26,000 in chips after the hand.

Larry Karambis raised it up to 9,000 from late position and Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul shoved the last of his 26,000 chips from the small blind. Karambis made a quick call and had Saul covered as the cards were tabled:

Saul:

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}

for a straight on the board, but the ace of Karambis played to give him a higher straight and eliminate Saul in 13th place collecting AU$6,575 for his efforts

Action folded around to tournament short-stack Rayan Nathan on the button who open-shoved all in for a total of 16,700. Anna Wroblewski folded her small blind and Dane Lomas slid the required chips across the betting line to make the call.

Lomas:

Lomas picked up four outs to a gutshot straight when the flop came {J-Spades}

, and four additional outs when the {8-Hearts}

came on the turn.

The last card off the deck was the {9-Hearts}

, a safe card for Nathan, and he doubled through to approximately 35,000 in chips.

David Steicke Doubles

Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul made the initial raise to 8,000 chips and David Steicke raised it up to 20,000 from the small blind. Saul asks Steicke how much he has left before putting his opponent all in. Steicke has about 22,000 in chips left and he goes into the tank before announcing "call".

Steicke:

The board lands {J-Hearts}

and Steicke spikes an ace to leap to over 90,000 chips as Saul doubles up his second opponent of the day.

Tournament short-stack Christine Klecz opted not to waste any time getting her chips into the middle, as she pushed all in over the top of a pre-flop raise made by Dane Lomas.

Lomas made the call and tabled {A-Spades}

, happy to see that he was slightly ahead of Klecz's {3-Spades}

giving Lomas a pair of aces, which was good enough to eliminate Klecz from the tournament in 14th place, worth $5,260 (AUD).
