Hand #79 - Michael Pedley Wins! Robert Wang Eliminated in 2nd Place (AU$99,940)

Robert Wang - 2nd Place
Robert Wang - 2nd Place
The button is with Michael Pedley.

Pedley announces all in from the button in the very first hand of heads up play, jokingly pointing out that he still has chips left if he loses. Amazingly Wang makes a great call as the cards are flipped and the crowd on the rail is buzzing with excitement at the sudden action!

Pedley: {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Wang: {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The flop brings an incredible {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the crowd erupts as Pedley snatches the lead!

The turn is the {7-Clubs} and Wang is left needed to catch a 7,8 or 9 on the river to survive. However the river is the {J-Hearts} and Michael Pedley leaps into the air in delight as he captures the trophy!

Congratulations to Robert Wang who ends an amazing run in 2nd place for AU$99,940 in prize money.

Heads Up Chip Count

As we commence the heads up contest, the chip counts are remarkably close:

Michael Pedley - 396,000
Robert Wang - 395,000

Our players are separated by a single 1,000 denomination chip, which is the smallest chip currently in play!

We should be in for an exciting heads up battle!

Hand #78 - Larry Karambis Eliminated in 3rd Place (AU$57,860)

Larry Karambis - 3rd Place
Larry Karambis - 3rd Place
The button is in Seat 3 with Robert Wang.

Wang folds from the button and Karambis raises it to 45,000 from the small blind. Pedley protects his cards, cuts down his chips and goes into the tank before announcing that he is all in. Karambis makes a quick call and the crowd watches in amazement as the cards are tabled:

Karambis: {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Pedley: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The board runs out {J-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and in a dramatic hand, Karambis snatches the lead on the flop only to watch the running diamonds land to give Pedley a sensational flush to win the pot!

After a great tournament Larry Karambis is eliminated in 3rd place for AU$57,860 in prize money.
