Wells Checks Down With Krnyaich; Lawson Applies Pressure

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Phillip Krnyaich limped in from late position and Adam Wells made it 1,600 from the button. Krnyaich called and the flop was {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Each player checked the flop and {5-Hearts} came on the turn. Both players checked again to see {7-Clubs} on the river. It went check-check again and the cards were turned up. Wells showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens and Krnyaich tossed his hand in the muck.

A couple of hands later, Michele Lawson checked a board of {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Wells bet 3,400 and Lawson made it 8,400. Wells thought better of it and tossed his hand in the muck.

Germany Cracks Aces

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was heads-up with 5,000 in the pot and {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} on the board when Ron Germany checked from the big blind. James Abrams bet 2,200 and Germany called to see {j-Spades} on the river.

Germany fired 6,700 and Abrams leaned forward to think it over. After he considered his options, Abrams tossed out the chips to call and turned over {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Germany tabled {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for quad deuces to crack the pocket aces and take the pot.

Action was heads-up with over 5,000 in the pot and {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} on the board when Aja Owens bet 2,000 from the small blind. Yuval Bronshtein called from late position and the turn was {2-Diamonds}.

Owens continued for 8,500 and Bronshtein called again. The river was {10-Spades}.

Owens shoved the river with her last 10,900 and Bronshtein went deep into the tank. After several minutes, he emerged from thought and tossed out the chips to call. Owens showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for queens and nines, while Bronstein flashed {j-}{10-} and nodded before he tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Martinez Felts One; Slay Takes

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Ramon Martinez raised to 800 and a player on the button went all in for his last 3,300. Action folded around and Martinez called.

Button: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Ramon Martinez: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Martinez made a pair of threes to secure the elimination.

On the next hand, Martinez raised to 800 and Kelly Slay called from the small blind. The flop was {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked to see {7-Clubs} on the turn. Slay check-called a bet of 800 from Martinez and the river was {8-Clubs}. Slay changed gears on the river and fired 4,000, which sent Martinez into the tank. After a few moments, he tossed his hand in the muck and gave up the pot.

"I had ace-ten," he told PokerNews.

"That was a really good fold if you had ace-ten," Slay said.
