Jackson Felts Bonita; Table Two Looking Tough

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Michael Bonita
Michael Bonita

Michael Bonita moved in for 155,000 and it folded around to the small blind, who flatted.

Then David Jackson (bb) announced he was all in and he successfully isolated Bonita.

Jackson: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Bonita: {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Board: {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Jackson flopped the bigger pair and took the pot. He's back up to nearly 2 million.

Michael Bonita was eliminated in 24th place, earning $805.

With Julio Clavell in Seat 1, David Jackson in Seat 3, John McGuinness in Seat 4, and John Malvasio in Seat 9, Table 2 is looking like a tough patch of felt!

Clavell Closing in on 3 Million

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Julio Clavell

In a button vs. small blind confrontation, Barbara Leonardi (sb) got all-in on an 8-high flop holding pocket aces. Julio Clavell (button) had {8-}{7-} for top pair. Then he caught running cards to make a straight, cracking Leonardi's Aces and sending her to the rail.

That took his stack up to nearly 1.9 million.

Then three-way action to a flop of {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Joe Eubanks (bb) checked, Wade Meacham bet 100,000, Clavell called from the cutoff, then Eubanks jammed for almost 400,000. Meacham opted out, but Clavell called.

Eubanks tabled {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the flush draw. Clavell was way ahead with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for the set, but had to fade all the clubs that didn't pair the board.

The last two cards fell safely {2-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and Clavell took the pot, chipping up to nearly 3 million. Start of Day 2 chip leader Joe Eubanks was busted.

His departure brought the player count down to 27 to this table was broken; only three tables remain.

Mary Dohner
Mary Dohner

Mary Dohner moved in for 360,000 and got action only from John Malvasio in the big blind.

Her {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} were crushing his {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, then the board came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and she improved to quads, not that she needed it. She doubled to about 760,000, leaving Malvasio with just over 1 million.

Raj Desai

Tony Sabbagh got his short stack in from the cutoff against Raj Desai on the button. Sabbagh's 76 suited was trailing Desai's {a-}{q-}, until the flop of {j-}{j-}{6-}.

Then the last two community cards came running aces, giving Desai aces-up, then aces-full for the pot. Sabbagh was felted and Desai chipped up to about 660,000.
