David Jackson has been firing in this event since yesterday and may have finally caught some traction, up to about 36,000.

His most recent seat happens to be to the left of another Borgata Open Champion, Jackob Datashvili.

Jackson won the 2019 Spring Poker Open Championship for $304,929 and Datashvili won the 2019 Summer Poker Open Championship for $276,129.

A Look at Table One

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Anthony Anastasi, Jediael Pires, Josias Santos, & Mark Gavrilov
Anthony Anastasi, Jediael Pires, Josias Santos, & Mark Gavrilov

Right inside the Signature Room entrance, the first table you come to is, of course, Table One. The table that never breaks.

It's currently populated with some familiar faces and action players.

On the turn with a board of {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Josias Santos jammed for 21,400 and all opponents folded, boosting his stack up to ~40,000.

He's sharing the felt with Jediael Pires, Anthony Anastasi, and the big stack on One, Mark Gavrilov, who's up to more than 90,000.

Lesitsky Gets There on the Turn

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Marc Lesitsky
Marc Lesitsky

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} with about 11,000 in the pot, Seat 6 (sb) bet 6,500, then Marc Lesitsky (middle) raised to 47,000 (covering both opponents).

Frank Passantino (button) gave it some thought, then folded. Seat 6 also pondered for a moment, then came to the opposite decision, calling all-in. His {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} (two overcards) was actually ahead with just Ace-high. Lesitsky's {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} (King-high) had a lot of outs with both straight and flush draws.

He picked up the lead when the {10-Clubs} on the turn gave him a pair and then just had to fade any Aces or Queens. The {3-Spades} completed the board and Seat 6 was sent to the rail. Lesitsky chipped up to ~100,000.

Battling Before Break

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

Level 4 is done and Flight C players are scattering for their first break of the day.

Before they headed out, Gary Kosakowski (hijack) was looking at a flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and bet 2,500, getting a flat from the button before getting check-raised to 6,500 by the small blind.

After some thought, Kosakowski let it go, saying he was folding {a-}{k-} (top pair/top kicker). The button folded as well.

Lee Boats Up and Chips Up

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Rick Lee Proudly Pulling the Pot
Rick Lee Proudly Pulling the Pot

On the turn with a board of {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} Rick Lee fired from early position and got a call from the big blind. When the {q-Diamonds} completed the board and his opponent checked again, Lee slid out a bet of 2,800, getting the call.

He tabled {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for the full boat and his opponent mucked. That pot took Lee's stack up to about 50,000 — double the starting stack size.

Grinders in the Corner

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Dan DaConti & Allen White
Dan DaConti & Allen White

Tucked into a table in the back corner of the room we found a couple of Borgata tournament regulars killing time with their phones between hands.

Dan DaConti has more than $312,000 in reported tournament earnings and keeps piling up the cashes. During the Borgata Poker Open in September, he put together a deep run in the WPT BPO Championship event, cashing for $6,399, when he finished 116th out of 1,156 runners.

Allen White doesn't play nearly as much as Dan, but his most recent cash at Borgata was just a couple of weeks ago during the Bar Poker Open when he final-tabled the $250 Monster Stack NLH.
