Ramdin Keeps Betting, Nerenberg Sticks Around

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

Victor Ramdin opened to 700 from the hijack and Gregory Nerenberg called in the small blind. The dealer fanned out {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}, action checked to Ramdin who bet 1,000 and Nerenberg check-called.

A {2-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn and Nerenberg again checked to Ramdin who again fired in a bet, this time for 1,600. Nerenberg check-called and the {j-Diamonds} completed the board.

Both players checked the river, Nerenberg tabled {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Ramdin threw his cards into the muck.

Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

The board read {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and two players had all over their chips into the pot. One of those players was well-known Maurice Hawkins who tabled {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flush and straight draw.

Rem tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for an overpair of aces and needed to dodge to take down the pot from Hawkins. The board ran out clean for Rem as he sent Hawkins out the door early.

Gary Gelman
Gary Gelman

Gary Gelman took fifth place and $17,400 in a six-way deal that ended Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH a few days ago.

He's in action at a tough table here in Flight A of the Championship event, but managed to push his opponent off the pot on the river. The final board read {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Gelman (sb) bet 2,500. That was enough to elicit a fold from Seat 9 and Gelman took the pot.

Also playing at his table are 2009 WPT BPO Champion Olivier Busquet, 2015 WSOP Main Event Champ Joe McKeehen, Robert Georato, and Arthur Peters,

Spencer Champlin & Ryan D'Angelo

On Table 14, four players took a flop of {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Seat 7 (sb) checked, Seat 8 (bb) checked, Spencer Champlin (hijack) checked, and Ryan D'Angelo (cutoff) bet 700. Both blinds folded and Champlin called.
