Three "One and Done" Tournaments During Break

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Michael Vela
Michael Vela

One of the best break-time activities here at Borgata are the "One and Done" single table, single hand tournaments. Ten players each put up $360, one hand is dealt, and the best hand gets $3,500 in cash — not coincidentally the amount needed to buy in to the Championship event.

During the previous break, three of these were done.

Michael Vela won the first on a board of {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} with his {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for the full house.

Noemi Saleh won the second on a board of {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. She was the last player to expose her hand, no one had an eight, and she had {k-Spades}{5-Spades} for kings-up.

The third time around the board read {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Uri Kadosh had {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for kings-full to take the $3,500. Interestingly, Will Failla had a side bet with another player which he won with his {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

Gozlan Shows After Taking One from Zinno

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Anthony Zinno opened to 1,200 from middle position, a player in the hijack called and Nissin Gozlan stuck around as well from the small blind.

The dealer fanned out {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, action checked to Zinno who bet 3,000 and only Gozlan called to see the {7-Diamonds} turn card. Both players checked and the {7-Clubs} completed the board.

Gozlan led out for 4,000 and Zinno quickly chucked his hand into the muck. Gozlan tabled {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush draw that turned into three sevens as he pulled in the pot.

Ormson Climbing Early in the Day

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

The turned board read {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and there was around 7,500 in the pot. Ronit Chamani checked to Larry Ormson who bet 5,000 and Chamani check-called.

The {2-Hearts} completed the board and both players checked the river. Ormson tabled {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair and Chamani quickly released her hand.

"I checked behind because I like you!" said Ormson as he scooped in the pot.
