Peter Vitantonio Eliminated in 16th Place ($31,958)

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Peter Vitantonio
Peter Vitantonio

Peter Vitantonio moved his last chips in with pocket sixes and got looked up by Ryan Olisar in the big blind, who had {10-Spades}{9-Spades}. The board came {a-}{a-}{8-}{7-}{8-} and was double-paired, so Vitantonio's pair was counterfeited. Olisar took the pot with his ten kicker.

Peter Vitantonio hit the rail in 16th place, earning $31,958.

Another Lead Change Before Break

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

After settling into their new seats, the final 16 players finished up the level and headed out for a break.

Before that happened, however, another huge hand took place.

Victor Ramdin (utg) opened for 90,000 and got called by Uke Dauti in the small blind before Ryan D'Angelo (bb) made it 380,000 to go. Both players called to see the flop fall {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and it was checked around.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Dauti led for 700,000 and both players called.

The river delivered the {a-Clubs} and Dauti checked, D'Angelo fired 1.1 million, Ramdin called, and Dauti dumped his hand. D'Angelo surrendered and Ramdin showed his {a-Spades}{q-Spades} (pair of Aces) to take the pot and the chip lead.

Qi Hu Eliminated in 17th Place ($26,240)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Qi Hu
Qi Hu

Qi Hu (button) slid all his chips across the line, except the lone blue 5,000 chip sitting atop his cards. David Farah (bb) thought he was all-in and called, tabling {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

Since Hu was technically not all-in, it was just a call and the flop was spread: {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The action was to Hu and he burned a couple of time chips before tossing in his last chip and tabling {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The board completed with the {q-Diamonds} and the {8-Clubs} which actually counterfeited Hu's hand — he was playing the board. Farah's Kings were good to take the pot and the chip lead.

Hu finished in 17th place, earning $26,240.

His departure also triggered the two table redraw with 16 players remaining.

Flying Lead Changes

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Ryan D'Angelo
Ryan D'Angelo

Donald Maloney's pocket Kings were good to take a nice pot from David Farah, moving Maloney into the chip lead, however briefly.

Then Ryan D'Angelo and David Prociak tangled over on Table 2. On the river, the board read {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Prociak jammed for ~2.5 million. D'Angelo tanked, burning through all his time chips, before opting to call all-in with his last ~1.5 million.

Prociak had {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for ace-high and D'Angleo's {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} was good to take the pot, doubling him up to nearly 5 million and the chip lead.

Selbst Ships Two Doubles

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

After an open to 90,000 from Nick Pupillo in the hijack, Vanessa Selbst (cutoff) raised to 280,000. Pupillo jammed and Selbst called, tabling {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Pupillo was way ahead with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The board came {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} and Pupillo doubled up to more than 2.1 million.

Then Pupillo opened again, Selbst 3-bet again, and Ryan Olisar (bb) moved in for 750,000 total. Pupillo got out of the way and Selbst called with {5-Spades}{4-Spades}. Olisar's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} was ahead and the board of {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} changed nothing. Olisar doubled up to more than 1.5 million.

Himmelbrand Cracks Aces

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Greg Himmelbrand
Greg Himmelbrand

In a battle of the blinds, Kevin Albers (sb) and Greg Himmelbrand (bb) limped to the flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Albers checked, Himmelbrand fired 50,000, then got check-raised to 125,000, and called.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Albers again checked, Himmelbrand led for 175,000, Albers again check-raised to 500,000, which covered Himmelbrand. He called off his last 480,000, showing {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for trip eights. Albers tabled {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} and his pocket Aces had been cracked.

The {k-Clubs} completed the board and improved Himmelbrand further to a full house, He doubled up to more than 1.3 million. Albers' stak dipped below 4 million.
