Muniz Quadruples His Stack in Ten Minutes

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Muniz
Michael Muniz

Late in Level 13, Michael Muniz only had 91,000, below the Almighty Starting Stack of 100,000. Then he tripled up with {q-Spades}{j-Spades} against players with {a-}{10-} and pocket sixes. Then about five minutes into Level 14, he made the nut flush against a player with the second-nut-flush. Just like that, he was up to 384,000!

Mccrea More than Doubles

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Kevin Mccrea
Kevin Mccrea

Kevin Mccrea raised to 13,500 from the hijack and was called by the player on the button and Michael Procopio in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Procopio checked, Mccrea continued with a bet of 25,000, the button shoved. Procopio asked for a count and the dealer confirmed the other player had 79,500 behind. Procopio took some time and then made the call. Mccrea quickly did the same.

They then proceeded to check through the {8-Spades} on the turn and the {10-Clubs} on the river. Procopio tabled {7-Hearts}{5-Spades} for the missed straight draw. Mccrea held {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for two pair, jacks and eights. The player on the button had {k-Hearts}{3-Spades} for nothing as he made his way out of the tournament area.

Varnell Scoops Huge Pot

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Craig Varnell
Craig Varnell

There was some commotion on the table of Craig Varnell and Artur Dukaj just before the break and a not so sober player ended up getting a one-round penalty. Varnell was kind enough to relay what had happened during the hand:

Another player raised to 6,000 and was called by the penalized player and Dukaj and Varnell in the blinds.

The flop came {8-}{8-}{7-}, both Dukaj and Varnell checked. The initial raiser made it 10,000, the other player called, Dukaj folded, and Varnell called.

The turn brought the {6-Clubs} for the second club to come on the board. Varnell checked again, the initial raiser shoved for around 100,000, the other player shoved too for more and Varnell called for around 200,000.

Initial Raiser: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Craig Varnell: {8-}{6-}
Other Player: {7-}{7-}

The initial raiser had the flush draw while the other player had flopped a full house, sevens over eights. But Varnell had turned the better full house with eights over sixes.

The river completed the board with a {9-} to not change things as Varnell earned a full double through the not so sober player and eliminated the initial raiser.

It seemed to kick off after that as the other player was sent away to cool down.
