After running horrendously bad on Day 1a and even expecting to lose at times according to his table chat back then, Matthew Zambanini waited until the start of level four before jumping back into the field.
Day 1b has reached 94 entries to surpass yesterday's attendance and will likely grow further with the late registration and re-entries available all day long.
A player under the gun raised to 1,500 and received two callers before Po Ying three-bet to 6,000 in the cutoff. Action folded around to a middle-position player, who moved all in for 29,700. Ying tanked for a few minutes, but he eventually called to put his opponent at risk.

Abraham Gordon raised to 1,000 in early position before Thomas Cannuli three-bet to 3,000 in the hijack. James Tedrow then four-bet to 10,000 in the big blind and Gordon folded, while Cannuli moved all in. Tedrow snap-called for 39,900.

Cannuli had run into Tedrow's aces, and the J♠7♠6♥3♥8♦ board offered no help as he was forced to hand over most of his stack.
Ricardo Eyzaguirre raised to 800 from the cutoff and the action folded to Mike Dentale in the big blind. He simply pushed all-in and Eyzaguirre was somewhat perplex, asked "you don't want to play a hand?"
Dentale gave him some speech play and got the fold, flashing two picture cards.
Sharman Olshan then raised to 1,000 from under the gun and Dentale in the small blind three-bet to 3,000 which Olshan quickly called. They checked down the J♦7♠2♦8♣A♥ board and Dentale won the pot with the A♣Q♣.
A player on the button three-bet to 2,500 and was called by the under-the-gun player and Joel Mitchell in middle position.
The flop came A♦5♥2♣ and the button continued for 4,000. Only Mitchell called this time.
The turn was the 4♦ and the button bet 10,000. Mitchell then moved all in. "Do I look like a guy who bluffs?" he said to his opponent, who tanked for several minutes as he considered the decision for his last 25,000.
Maurice Hawkins eventually called the clock. "Where were you in the Main Event when the guy took 15 minutes?" Mitchell said, alluding to the Loren Klein controversy from the WSOP. The 30-second countdown reached zero, and the button's hand was declared dead as he tossed A♠4♠ into the muck. Mitchell showed him K♣3♣ while taking in the pot.
James Lauer recently busted but quickly reentered.
David Meagher scored a knockout when his K♣8♠ in the big blind flopped two pair and his opponent Brandon Lulov with K♦Q♠ got it in after the K♥8♦4♥9♣ turn, the 4♦ river was a blank.
Meagher won the next two pots before losing one and then flat-called a raise to 1,000 by Kevin Nee. Austen Yueh behind reraised to 4,000 and was called both ways.
On the Q♦8♦4♦ flop, the action was checked to Yueh and she bet for 3,500. Only Nee called and the remainder of the 9♣ turn and 5♦ river were checked.
"Set," Nee announced and tabled the 8♥8♣.
"Set is good," Yueh replied and mucked her cards.
Around 25,000 was already in the middle as Wesley Shi and an opponent went to the turn on a board of 9♠7♥4♠9♥. The cutoff then moved all in for 28,000, and Shi put him at risk on the button.
The cutoff showed K♥K♦, while Shi had A♠7♠ for a pair and flush draw. The A♣ river gave Shi aces and sevens, and he sent another player to the rail.
