Fantin was dominated but hit a pair on the Q♦3♦2♦ flop to take the lead. The 7♣ turn left him a card away from a double up, but Lopes spiked the J♣ on the river to win the pot and send Fantin to the rail in 11th place.

The 5♦ fell on the river and Araujo bet 1,050,000. Padilha used up a time bank before calling once more, and Araujo showed K♦J♦ for a bluff. Padilha turned over A♣9♣ for a pair of nines to win the pot.

"What the heck is going on here? What a call. You might be ahead of Akkarious already. Maybe not. He's still the best," Martin Kabrhel told Padilha after the hand, putting him among the top tier of Brazilian poker players.
