$6,000 BSOP Championship
Day 4 Completed
When all starting flights had wrapped up, the 2025 BSOP Championship field stood at 714 entrants. Today, only 24 of them returned to the WTC Sheraton, each with one clear objective: reach the final table. After roughly eight hours of action, the lineup is set.
Each finalist has locked up $55,000, but will all have their eyes solely on the $800,000 first-place prize and the BSOP Championship trophy that comes with it.
Entering the final day in the best shape, Diones Lopes holds the overnight chip lead. Starting the day fifth in chips, Lopes put his stack to work throughout the session, including claiming one of the final knockouts of the night, before ending the day with 14,810,000.
Sitting second in chips is Pedro Padilha, one of Brazil’s most accomplished players. Eighth on the country’s all-time money list with over $3.5 million in live earnings — plus substantial online results — Padilha will return with 12,755,000.
Rounding out the overnight podium is Giorgio Tonin, who narrowly avoided bubbling on Day 3 after his pocket queens cracked pocket kings. He’s climbed steadily since and takes 9,880,000 into Day 5.

Action got underway shortly after 2:00 p.m. local time as the final 24 players returned, each already guaranteed $20,000, and it wasn't long before the first elimination.
First to exit, Renan Buriti fell foul of the deck, getting ace-king all in preflop against the same hand—only his opponent’s was suited. A flush on the river sealed Buriti’s elimination in harsh fashion.
By the first break, two additional players had already hit the rail. But while some couldn’t find a foothold, Alen Fillipi surged in the other direction. Starting the day with the shortest stack, he tripled up early after hitting an ace in a three-way all-in against two pocket pairs. Then, in quick succession, he secured two more double-ups — each one coming through Paulo Joanello.
Those collisions left Joanello with a short stack, and it wasn't long before he departed in 21st place.
Next to go was start-of-day chip leader Leonardo Rizzo, who chose the wrong time to show aggression, shoving into his opponents' pocket aces, which sealed his demise in 20th place.
As the two-table redraw approached, two eliminations occurred simultaneously on separate tables. Leandro Prinz exited in 17th place on the outer table, while Vitor Dzivielevski fell in 16th on the feature table.
Heading into the dinner break, eleven players remained, but moments after play resumed, Darci Fantin was eliminated. His ace-two went in preflop against a superior ace-jack, and although he took the lead on the flop, the river ended his run.
Hand-for-hand play then began, with the tournament on the final table bubble. Ultimately, it came down to a clash between the two shortest stacks. Frederico Nizzato couldn’t win a flip against Matheus Grazziotin, and with Grazziotin holding the slightly bigger stack, the final table was set.
The final table gets underway on Saturday, November 29, at 2 p.m. local time, with coverage streamed on YouTube. Both the broadcast and PokerNews updates will run on a 30-minute delay.
Play will resume with 53 minutes left in Level 25, with blinds at 80,000/160,000 and a 160,000 big blind ante, and action will continue until a champion is crowned.

With the final table lineup confirmed, play has concluded for the day.
The remaining players will bag their chips and return tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. local time to play until a champion is crowned.
Stay tuned for chip counts and a full recap of today's action.
With the tournament on the final table bubble, Matheus Grazziotin moved all in for 1,470,000 from the cutoff. The action folded to Frederico Nizzato in the big blind, who called immediately.
Nizzato had 1,450,000 in his stack, making him the player at risk.
Frederico Nizzato: A♠Q♥
Matheus Grazziotin: 9♠9♦
Grazziotin took a commanding lead on the 5♥4♦9♥ flop and had the pot locked up on the 4♣ turn.
The 3♣ river was merely a formality, as Nizzato was already guaranteed to be exiting in tenth place.

Bernardo Soares limped in the small blind, and Diones Lopes checked in the big blind.
The dealer spread a 2♣5♦8♦ flop, which saw Soares check-call a bet of 240,000.
The action checked through on the K♣ turn, and the 9♦ completed the board.
Soares checked for a third time, calling when Lopes bet 400,000.
Lopes flipped over 6♥4♥, for a six-high bluff, and Soares showed the winner, A♠8♠.
