$6,000 BSOP Championship
Day 3 Completed
Bernardo Soares waited for the last possible moment before seizing the chip lead on Day 3 of the R$30,000 ($6,000 US) Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) Championship.
Soares spiked a set of sixes on the flop to crack Alcioni Pollermann’s sevens and bring the field down to the final 24 who will return for Day 4 tomorrow. The bustout of Pollermann pushed Soares up to 5,625,000 at the end of the night and atop the leaderboard. Soares had earlier doubled up in an aces-versus-kings classic cooler against Isabella Costa to begin his ascent up the chip counts.
| Rank | Player | Country | Chip Count | Big Blinds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bernardo Soares | Brazil | 5,625,000 | 94 |
| 2 | Gregory Fabião | Brazil | 5,465,000 | 91 |
| 3 | Ramiro Araujo | Brazil | 5,190,000 | 87 |
| 4 | Giorgio Tonin | Brazil | 4,755,000 | 79 |
| 5 | Diones Lopes | Brazil | 4,280,000 | 71 |
| 6 | Matheus Grazziotin | Brazil | 4,175,000 | 70 |
| 7 | Caio Kopke | Brazil | 3,835,000 | 64 |
| 8 | Frederico Nizzato | Brazil | 3,720,000 | 62 |
| 9 | Pedro Padilha | Brazil | 3,650,000 | 61 |
| 10 | Leandro Prinz | Brazil | 3,640,000 | 61 |
Gregory Fabiao sits in second place with 5,465,000, picking off a big bluff from Pedro Padilha on the river to double up before hitting a set of jacks to bust Marin Gechev. Ramiro Araujo (5,190,000), Giorgio Tonin (4,755,000), and Diones Lopes (4,280,000) round out the top five.
While they aren’t in the top 10, the two biggest talkers left in the tournament are Leonardo Rizzo and Martin Kabrhel. Usually, the jabs were directed at each other. “Kabrhel, you bust today!” Rizzo shouted out to Kabrhel after busting another player earlier in the day.
Rizzo took a big chip lead when his set of fours outflopped Marcelo Aziz’s pocket tens to score the knockout, moving Rizzo up past 5,000,000. He slid down the leaderboard later in the night and ended up with 3,555,000. Kabrhel also enjoyed his time as chip leader, hitting a set of sevens to knock out Joao Simao and Vladas Tamasauskas on the same hand. He bagged up 3,125,000 entering the event’s penultimate day.
Others to advance to Day 4 include Day 1d chip leader Frederico Nizzato (3,720,000), Padilha (3,650,000), Renan Bruschi (3,640,000), Vitor Dzivielevski (2,630,000), and WSOP bracelet winner Paulo Joanello (2,060,000). Short stacks include Dante Goya (1,080,000), Daria Krashennikova (960,000), and Alen Fillipi (440,000).
Day 3 began with 75 players returning to the WTC Sheraton in Sao Paulo out of 714 entries. Along the way, Alisson Piekazewicz (75th), Laurie Tournier (67th), Thiago Crema (30th), and Fabiano Kovalski (29th) were sent to the payout desk. The strangest knockout wasn’t even in a pot. Leandro Zavodini came into Day 3 with a stack of 1,520,000, just outside the top 10, but he never showed up and his stack was eventually blinded down more than six hours later as he ended up in 34th.
The remaining 24 players return tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time to play down to the final table. The action picks up with 75 minutes remaining in Level 21 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and a 60,000 big blind ante. Everyone left has locked up R$100,000 ($20,000 US), while a spot at the final table is worth R$275,000 ($55,000 US). The eventual champion takes home R$4,000,000 ($800,000 US).
PokerNews will be back tomorrow following all the action and providing live updates as the final table is in sight for the remaining 24 players.

Martin Kabrhel raised to 120,000 on the button before Daria Krashennikova moved all in for 435,000 in the big blind. "I want to double up Daria," Kabrhel said as he called.
Daria Krashennikova: A♦Q♥
Martin Kabrhel: J♠5♠
The Q♠7♥4♥ flop gave Krashennikova top pair, but Kabrhel picked up a flush draw on the 2♠ turn. The river Q♣ was safe for Krashennikova as she improved to trips to secure the double up.
"Congratulations, Daria!. We made it!," Kabrhel told her as an elimination on another table at the same time brought Day 3 to a close.

The action was joined as Alcioni Pollermann put his 1,115,000 stack in preflop from the cutoff, and was at risk versus Bernardo Soares on the button.
Alcioni Pollermann: 7♣7♥
Bernardo Soares: 6♣6♥
A sweet situation soon turned sour for Pollermann, as the dealer spread a K♣6♦4♣ flop, seeing Soares take the lead.
The 3♣ turn and K♦ river couldn't save Pollermann, whose elimination marked the end of the day, with the remaining 24 players bagging their stacks.

Tiago Laude moved all in for 890,000 in early position and Frederico Nizzato called in the hijack.
Tiago Laude: K♥J♠
Frederico Nizzato: A♣J♣
Laude was dominated and fell further behind on the A♠9♦2♥ flop as Nizzato hit top pair. The rest of the board ran out 4♣4♠ and Laude was sent to the rail.
At another table, Dante Goya and Ramiro Araujo went to the turn with around 600,000 in the middle and the board showing 7♠3♠K♠2♠. Goya then bet 260,000 from the hijack, and Araujo called in the big blind.
Goya bet another 800,000 on the 6♥ river, and Araujo again called. Goya showed A♣2♣, while Araujo had J♠6♣ for a flush to win the big pot.

With a raise to 120,000 on the button ahead of him, Matheus Grazziotin called in the small blind. Igor Perez then moved all in from the big blind for 775,000. The original raiser folded, but Grazziotin called.
Igor Perez: K♦J♠
Matheus Grazziotin: A♠9♣
Perez took the lead on the K♠10♣9♥ flop, and stayed there on the 10♥ turn.
The A♥ river was bad news, though, as Grazziotin regained his preflop lead and sent Perez to the rail.
