"I Hate This Game...But I Love It"

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Sammy Aweida
Sammy Aweida

Sammy Aweida found himself below 20,000 after recently losing an all-in preflop situation with ace-jack to pocket tens where he flopped a jack and turned trips, only to see a ten fall on the river to give his opponent a full house and cede the double. Moments later, he got the rest of his stack all in prelfop in the cutoff against an opponent in middle position.

Sammy Aweida: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop {8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} gave Aweida a sweat as his opponent found himself with a dozen outs to send him to the rail. That number was reduced by three as Aweida picked up a set on the turn {q-Spades}, and the river {2-Spades} completed the runout safely to score him the double.

"I hate this game," joked Aweida after the runout completed. "But I love it."

Palumbo Makes the Right Call

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Rocco Palumbo
Rocco Palumbo

The cutoff open-limped before Rocco Palumbo pumped it up to 1,800 in the small blind. The big blind folded and the cutoff called, taking action heads up to a flop of {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Palumbo continuation-bet 1,200 and the cutoff called.

Action checked through the turn {9-Hearts} and the river came {5-Clubs}. Palumbo checked again and his opponent fired out 3,000. Palumbo thought for about 20 seconds and then tossed in chips to call.

The cutoff tabled {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for the busted gutshot to Broadway and Palumbo showed {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a rivered two pair to earn him the pot.

Faecher Flips Well

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Barry Faecher
Barry Faecher

Barry Faecher opened on the button and was three-bet to 3,600 by Mike Wheeler in the big blind. Faecher four-bet jammed for 19,400 and Wheeler called, sending the two off to the races.

Barry Faecher: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Mike Wheeler: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades} left Faecher out in front but he picked up three more outs to sweat after the turn {9-Hearts} hit the board. The board did wind up double pairing on the river {7-Spades}, but it was not enough for Faecher's hand to be bested and he scored the double as a result.

Keeline Leads the Whole Way

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Ben Keeline
Ben Keeline

Dimitrios Adrianakos open-limped in the hijack and action went three handed to a flop of {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} after the small blind completed and Ben Keeline checked his option in the big blind. The small blind checked and Keeline bet 800, with both players calling.

Three-handed action continued to the turn {3-Spades}, where the small blind checked once more. Keeline tossed out 5,700 and Adrianakos verbally confirmed the amount before calling. The small blind quickly folded.

The river fell {6-Spades} and Keeline reached for chips once more, firing another 18,000 into the middle. Adrianakos took about three seconds and then flicked his cards forward across the felt.

Liu Eliminates Hartner

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Sheng Liu
Sheng Liu

The under-the-gun Brian Hartner got his last 10,000 or so all in on a flop of {3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against Sheng Liu, who was on the button.

Brian Hartner: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Sheng Liu: {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

"Black," requested Hartner before the turn. Instead, it fell {5-Hearts} to boat up Liu and leave Hartner drawing dead to the river {7-Spades}, which completed his no-good flush draw and sent him to the rail as a result.

Wheeler Gets Some More from Fuller

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Mike Wheeler
Mike Wheeler

Mike Wheeler raised to 1,200 under the gun and was called by a player in early position. Thomas Fuller also called in middle position and the three players saw a flop of {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Wheeler continuation-bet 3,200, the early-position player folded, and Wheeler called.

Action was then heads up to the turn {4-Spades}, where both players checked. The river then fell {4-Diamonds} and Wheeler fired out 6,500. Fuller went into the tank for about 90 seconds and before firmly setting calling chips onto the felt.

"I have trip fours," said Wheeler as he showed {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Fuller let out a groan and shot his cards forward from the five-seat, sliding across the felt before hitting the dealer tray with an audible thud. The dealer then shipped the pot Wheeler's way.
