Denaro Flops the Joint to Triple

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Three-handed on a completed board of 10JAA7 and around 30,000 in the middle, Jose Maria Montiel bet 15,000 from the big blind before Adria Gabarro raised to 50,000 in the hijack.

Sergio Denaro called for his last 40,000 in the cutoff as action went back on Montiel, who tanked for nearly a minute before calling. Gabarro showed QJ, Montiel had A9 for trip aces, but Denaro turned over KQ for the flopped straight as he tripled up.

Diaz Ubeda Shows the Bluff as Mataix Goes Deep Into the Tank

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 49Q, Jordi Mataix bet 6,000 from early position before Julian Diaz Ubeda moved all in from the button for 60,000.

Mataix agonized over the decision for several minutes, at times pretending to throw his cards into the muck before burying his head in his hands.

He eventually did let go of his hand and Diaz Ubeda showed J6 as he took the pot.

"Big balls," a tablemate said.

Teymouri Checks Back an Ace

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mojtaba Teymouri raised to 8,000 in the hijack and Francesc Parramon came along from the big blind.

The flop came A5K and Teymouri continued for 8,000. Parramon again called and both players checked the Q turn.

Parramon also checked the 8 river as Teymouri took a peek back at his cards before knuckling the table and showing A9 for a pair of aces.

Parramon, though, had K5 for two pair as he took in the pot.

Big Stacks Collide as Dogra Doubles in Massive Pot

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

After a player in early position raised to 8,000, Julian Diaz Ubeda three-bet to 24,000 in the small blind. Harcharan Dogra in the big blind then four-bet to 48,000 and the early-position player folded.

Ubeda, though, came back with a reraise to 100,000 and Dogra called. The flop came JJ8 and Ubeda announced he was all in. Dogra snap-called for around 180,000.

Harcharan Dogra: QQ
Julian Diaz Ubeda: AK

Dogra needed his queens to hold up as the turn came the 9, followed by the Q river that gave him a full house, the massive pot, and a double up into the chip lead.

"He's going to be chip leader to start Day 2," tablemate Jordi Mataix said.

Rodriguez Busts Another, Outflips Dansie

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A few hands after his massive bustout against Max Castelle, Jose Rodriguez three-bet to 17,000 in the cutoff, then called when Ryan Dansie moved all in for around 35,000 under the gun.

Ryan Dansie: 1010
Jose Rodriguez: AK

Dansie was racing for his tournament life but saw the bad news when the dealer flipped over the JAK flop, giving Rodriguez two pair.

Dansie had a straight draw but improved no further on the 3 turn or 8 river and left the table so quickly he forgot his backpack behind and had to be called back.

Rodriguez Puts a Cruel Cooler on Castelle

Jose Rodriguez and Max Castelle were heads-up on a completed board of 99Q10A when Rodriguez bet 30,000 from early position.

Castelle then raised to 60,000 in the big blind and Rodriguez moved all in. Castelle snap-called and turned over Q9 for a flopped full house.

Rodriguez, though, had A9 for a rivered full house to win the massive pot. Castelle flung his arms in the air in frustration as the stacks were counted down. Rodriguez had around 150,000 remaining and barely had Castelle covered, sending him to the rail on the brutal cooler.
