From 73 players at the beginning of Day 2, only 18 remain and have qualified for Day 3 of the 2023 €560 Eurasian Poker Tour Main Event at the 888poker Room in Bucharest.

Out of 486 entries, they'll come back to the last two tables of the tournament tomorrow, Sunday, November 12, hoping to reach the final table and then take for the €36,000 first-place prize.

Day 2 was pretty short (only seven levels of play), but Gheorghe Butuc didn't need more to build up a stack of 2,725,000, the biggest one of all. With him, only Razvan Paduraru (2,300,000) and Sebastian Ionita (2,000,000) managed to end the Day with more than two millions chips.

Chip leader when Day 2 started, Ionut Voinea is now in the second half of the field (1,045,000), with Bogdan Trifanescu (665,000), Raoul Iancovici (500,000), and Andrei Iordache (440,000), who holds the shortest stack. More than aiming to win, their first goal will be to secure a seat at the final table.

After he shoved from under the gun, Andrei Iordache tried to convince all his tablemates not to call. And he was convincing enough, because everybody folded, even John Two with AxJx.

Meanwhile on another table, Alexandru Anghel didn't wait for them to fold as he moved all in earlier for his last 400,000 chips. Andrei Nodea eventually called from the big blind.

Andrei Nodea: 99

The flop K210 was no help for Anghel, who was still waiting for an ace after the turn 6. But the 5 landed on the river, and Anghel lost his wings in 19th place for €1,930.

Dumitru Barta was seeing standing up in front of a board of 9108K3 with his cards already on their backs, as he went all in for 350,000 against Florentin Constantin.

Dumitru Barta: QJ
Florentin Constantin: AQ

Barta had the best straight on the flop, but Constantin hit the nut flush on the turn to send Barta to the rail. This hand happened just as Mihai Prisacariu was being eliminated on another table.
