Dragan's Cowboys Lasso an Opponent

Galic charm
Galic charm
Dragan Galic had dropped down to 42,000 (the circumstances of this are unknown, but Roland de Wolfe's stack has mysteriously and suspiciously swelled to 59,000) when he had a spot of luck.

The board read {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {10-Hearts} and Galic's opponent was all in when we caught up with the action. He flipped {A-Hearts} {10-Spades}, but Galic had him beat with {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} and is back up to 82,000.

Mattern Asks For Help

Arnaud Mattern has just 7,200 left and is trying to convince ElkY to blow on his chips to bring him good luck. De Wolfe next to him continues to run well, he's now over the 40,000 mark.

Solomon Fights Back

Dragan Galic raised under the gun and there were two calls before Paul Solomon, the same fresh-faced young Brit who earlier folded to Roland de Wolfe, moved all in for around 15,000. Folds all round, and he picked up the pot without even seeing a flop.

Atanas Gueorguiev Eliminated

Atanas Gueorguiev eliminated
Atanas Gueorguiev eliminated
After the flop came down {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts}, Atanas Gueorguiev check-raised to 6,200 after his opponent bet 2,250. The player then came back over the top of Gueorguiev to put him all in. Gueorguiev called for his last 10,550 holding {K-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. His opponent held {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}.

The turn came the {2-Hearts} and the river the {3-Diamonds}, blanking for Gueorguiev. He was sent to the rail having been eliminated from the tournament.

Luca Loses A Lot of Chips

Luca Pagano's opponent checked the flop of {8-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}. Pagano bet out 1,200 and then the player check-raised to 8,000. Pagano made the call after a minute of thought.

The turn brought the {A-Clubs} and again the first player checked. Pagano took some time, but then bet out 10,000, leaving himself with exactly 15,200 chips behind. His opponent took about half the time and jacked up the action to 40,000 strong. Pagano tanked, but eventually mucked his hand, having lost well over half his stack in the process.

Lodden Claims a Huge Fold

Lodden "thinks" jacks were in Robinson's pocket
Lodden "thinks" jacks were in Robinson's pocket
On the plane ride over, David Robinson talked about how he hoped this EPT event would turn out like all the others hadn't. He also talked about how he bombed out of one event on the bubble after holding a top-five stack a few minutes prior. "You gotta play to win." he said. "I'm not there to just cash." So far, things are looking great for Robinson.

Robinson opened to 600 from middle position and Johnny Lodden called on the button. The player in the small blind also called. The flop came down {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}. The small blind checked and Robinson continued his aggression with a bet of 1,100. Lodden flat-called before the small blind ducked out of the way.

The turn brought the {J-Spades} and Robinson bet out again being first to act. He made it 4,200. Lodden again came along with a call.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and Robinson didn't slow down, increasing his bet size to 11,000. Lodden tanked. After about a minute, he raised to 33,000. Almost instantly, Robinson came back over the top, making it 72,000 to go. Lodden had between 18,000 and 20,000 chips left in his stack and was frozen. He tanked for several minutes while a small crowd gathered around the table. He kept checking his cards over and over. In the end, Lodden slid his hand in the middle and asked Robinson to see his cards. Robinson neglected to show and just gathered in the chips.

As Robinson was stacking his stack of now 127,000, Lodden said, "You had to have jacks." Lodden then went on to say that he folded {7-?} {5-?} for a full house on the river. "You just had to have jacks." he said.

Aggression Pays Off for De Wolfe

Roland de Wolfe
Roland de Wolfe
A gentleman raised under the gun, and Roland de Wolfe in mid position was the only caller.

Flop: {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}

Mr. Under-the-Gun checked and de Wolfe bet 1,500. A call, and a turn.

Turn: {8-Hearts}

Again, Mr. Under-the-Gun checked, and this time de Wolfe made it 4,000 to go. Another call, and they saw the river.

River: {A-Spades}

Once more, Mr. Under-the-Gun checked, and now de Wolfe, by this time chewing on the collar of his t-shirt, bet 10,500.

There followed a long dwell from Mr. Under-the-Gun, during which time he picked at his nails and looked very intense. Eventually he removed his shades and started giggling instead. "I think I have a read on you," he said -- but went ahead and folded.

De Wolfe is now up to 35,000.
