No Zurilla Monsoon

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

EPT Copenhagen Winner Michael Tureniec has already been getting into the thick of the action betting 6,550 on the turn of a {k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} board before shoving all-in on the {10-Clubs} river for around 18,000 effective. His opponent in this hand was Spaniard Jose Ruben Zurilla who made a fairly speedy call on the turn but took several minutes before deciding to fold on the river to the huge bet from the Swede.

From The Horse's Mouth

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Whilst we did not see the hand as it happened thanks to the miracle of Twitter we can reveal that British pro has just lost a sizeable pot against Team PokerStars pro Luca Pagano.

Sudworth believes he may have misplayed his {10-}{9-} on a board reading {9-}{7-}{3-}{2-}{2-} against Pagano's {9-}{7-} but also added it was quite a situational hand.

Sudworth is still looking for his first EPT cash here at Snowfest and has some way to go to catch Pagano's record of 17 EPT cashes, the most of any player in European Poker Tour history

Finger Paints The Right Picture

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Sofia Lövgren has lost a little ground since the last time we checked on her, mainly due to battling with Martin Finger, who convinced her she was beaten.

Finger raised to 375 from under the gun, a bet that Alessia Isaia called in early position and Lövgren on the button. The flop came down {q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Spades} and Finger tossed in a continuation bet of 700, which saw Isaia fold but Lövgren made the call.

The {6-Clubs} on the turn did not look like it changed too much but when Finger fired 1,800 at the pot, Lövgren no longer liked her hand and she folded.

Table of (Fun) Death

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Kevin MacPhee, joining the Hall of Moustache fame.
Kevin MacPhee, joining the Hall of Moustache fame.

It's a pretty talkative table 13 today with Kevin McPhee, Kevin Stani, Liv Boeree, Luca Pagano and James Sudworth all involved.

Pagano made a good call on the river of what looked to be a {5-}{3-}{3-}{6-}{8-} against a 4,100 bet from Stani with just deuces to win a pot, but he lost some chips later to Sudworth. The young Englishman had fired flop and turn of a {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts} river but checked the ace to show {a-}{q-} which had just pipped Pagano who flashed the {10-Hearts}.

Sudworth meanwhile has been attempting to encourage McPhee and the rest of the table into doing some shots of Jager with him, so far no-one is interested. Yet.

Lex, Sighs & Videotape

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Unrelenting aggression from Lex Veldhuis has seen the Dutch Team PokerStars Pro's stack surge to to around 42,000.

There was a raise to 400 from [Removed:40] in mid position before Veldhuis made it 1,300 from the hijack. It folded back to Vitagliano who flat-called, and they saw a flop.

The trend for flat-calling from Vitagliano continued as he check-called 1,600 from Veldhuis on the {6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and another 4,500 on the {5-Diamonds} turn. Vitagliano checked again on the {4-Diamonds} river and Veldhuis fired for the final time, this time to the tune of 11,800. Vitagliano dejectedly contemplated his remaining 18,000 in chips for some time before folding.

Word trickled back to the press room afterwards that Veldhuis hadn't had it at all...

Is a Pierre Good Here?

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Daniel Drescher
Daniel Drescher

Pierre Neuville has dropped to about 20,000 after he decided to fold to Daniel Drescher's all-in river bet of 14,625 on a board of {7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} with around 16,000 already in the pot. Drescher scooped the pot with a slight smile of satisfaction but gave little away about his hand strength.

Just a Small Town Gal...

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo

Fatima Moreira de Melo has doubled up to around 57,000 after being all-in with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} against Zoltan Gal's {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} on a board of {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} with most of the money appearing to have gone in on the turn.

It was galling for Gal who has been crippled as a result.

"Welll bet" Miss Lövgren

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Over on Table 21 Sofia "welll bet" Lövgren has just helped herself to a substantial pot after a multiway hand.

Martin Finger started the betting with a raise to 250 from under the gun. Valeriy Ilikyan was next to act and he also called, as did Lövgren called on the button, and Gustavo Zito came along for the ride in the big blind.

Flop: {5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} - Zito checked, Finger checked, Ilikyan also checked but Lövgren took a stab at the pot and bet 550. Zito then check-raised to 1,525, which was enough to fold out Finger and Ilikyan but Lövgren made the call.

Turn: {q-Clubs} - After the action on the flop the turn was met with a rather disappointing pair of checks.

River: {k-Hearts} - Zito almost instantly lead out with a 2,500 bet and just as quick Lövgren called, showing {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} to beat Zito's {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Lövgren is now up to 34500
