Sander Gets Bernd

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Ben Wilinofsky
Ben Wilinofsky

Overnight chip leader fallen on hard times Sander Berndsen made a bit of a recovery, but is now back down under 100,000 after betting on the river of a {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs} board. Ben Wilinofsky, who had initially checked the river from the small blind position, check-raised him to 25,000 and after a short, unhappy period in the tank, Berndsen folded.

Wilinofsky is up to around 190,000.

Marcin Out Of Here

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Marcin Horecki
Marcin Horecki

Marcin Horecki is out after he squeezed with {j-}{2-} against a couple of limpers for his final 20,000. The first folded but the second took an almightly long time to call with {A-}{k-}.

Horecki apparently flopped "a billion outs" but none of them hit and now the Polish pro is looking for a train back home, but not before he has a shave. "My wife will kill me if I come home with a beard!"

Swing and a Missen

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Kevin Vandersmissen
Kevin Vandersmissen

Kevin Vandersmissen is up to 127,000 after he eliminated Gert Roland Zumkehr after an all-in preflop battle, the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} against Zumkehr's {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for a circa 50,000 pot.

The board came a Belgian friendly {8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and the EPT Snowfest runner-up is sitting with quite a decent stack at this point here.

Swedes Playing The Blain Game

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dermot Blain (who had run deep at San Remo last year) had raised preflop and been called by the blinds Nedzib Suman and Jens Thorson (who'd also gone deep in San Remo).

The flop came {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and it was checked to Irishman Blain who bet 6,000. Suman made the call and Thorson folded before the {5-Spades} turn.

Suman checked again and Blain bet 9,600 this time but suddenly and almost a little unexpectedly, Suman check-raised to 26,000 total. Blain did not instantly fold to this bet either and counted down his stack before making the call.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and any hope of more action was quickly extinguished when Suman checked back to the Irishman - who checked behind. Suman flipped {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for the turned flush and Blain simply said, "Flush? Flush is good."

Suman added another 40,000 or so to his stack as Blain dropped a substantial amount.

Some New Stacks in the Lower Area

Start of day chip leader Sander Berndsen has taken a hammering today, dropping to 77,000 which is only around average. Meanwhile the TV table is off limits until the break, but Roberto Romanello was facing the right way for a quick count.
