Martin Jacobson min-raised in the cutoff but soon folded as Vadzim Kursevich shoved for 623,00 on the button and big blind Mikhail Lakhitov called all in for 581,000. On their backs.
Kursevich:
Lakhitov: , well ahead
Board:
Ouch. Neither player visibly reacted to the queen on the flop, but it must have been devastating to Lakhitov, who busts out in 18th place. Kursevich is now up to 1.25 million.
Konstantin Puchkov has had an awful day so far - it seems as though every time we glance his way, he's losing another pot. This time we witnessed him raising to 70,000 and then folding to a 550,000 shove from Jonas Gutteck, which would have set the Russian in.
Puchkov is down to less than 370,000 now, around 12 big blinds and not much more than half what he started the day with.
...and doubles up to 1,400,000. That might still be below his mighty top stack previously, but it's much healthier than it was half a level ago. Here's how it happened:
Vadzim Kursevich raised when it passed to him in the small blind (77,000). Fabrice Soulier in the big blind slowly counted out a re-raise - 210,000 total (with just under half a million back). Kursevich has shown an unwillingness to fold preflop (as demonstrated by his Lausinger bust) and this hand was no exception. He raised all-in and Soulier shrug-called.

The flop:
The turn: He'd rather have seen a different suit...
The river:
Soulier's heart could sink back from his mouth as he regains a proper stack while Kursevich drops to 530,000.
It's all gotten very tight after a fairly speedy first level. Konstantin Puchkov opened to 65,000 from the button and seemed to give it some serious consideration when Jonas Gutteck moved all-in from the big blind but the Russian folded, leaving himself fairly short.
Meanwhile on the other table that we're able to see (remember we have no access to the feature table at this time) Martin Jacobson opened to 60,000 from UTG before Fabrice Soulier reraised all-in from the cutoff for around 590,000. Jacobson seemed put off by the size of the bet and opted for the fold instead.
Fabrice Soulier opened to 73,000 and to his left the extremely short-stacked Mikhail Lakhitov shoved for the second time that orbit. Back to Soulier, who tanked... and tanked... and eventually made the call for 294,000 total.

They're at 650,000 apiece after that, but presumably feeling rather different about their stacks.
It folded around to Luis Jaikel in the small blind, who went all in. Big blind Thomas Traboulsi sighed and commenced a lengthy spell in the tank.
"I have big cards," he told Jaikel. "I have very big cards." Jaikel looked uninterested and stared alternately at the felt and the ceiling. "King ten?" Traboulsi asked him.
"Nah!" said Jaikel, apparently somewhat offended by the suggestion.
"Pocket sevens?"
Jaikel returned his gaze to the ceiling. Eventually Traboulsi folded up. Jaikel showed him a dominated and took the pot.
An awkward series of raises got Alessandro Laubinger's whole stack in preflop vs. Vadzim Kursevich. Laubinger made it 69,000 on the button (with 345k behind). Kursevich raised to 145,000. An expressionless dwell later, Laubinger moved forward first one stack and then his final two.
Having not announced, "All in," the ruling was that the first bet alone held - 239,000.
The decision whether or not to play the whole way to the river was now up to Kursevich anyway - he went for it, setting Laubinger in.
On their backs:
Laubinger
Kursevich
The flop double paired Kursevich: . Thomas Kremser said something about a queen being the way for him to survive. The turn was a and the river bricked . Out Laubinger goes.
Max Heinzelmann raised preflop to 61,000 from late position and Team PokerStars Pro Henrique Pinho moved all-in for 649,000 from the blinds.
Heinzelmann didn't take too long to make the call with and Pinho flipped racing for his tournament life.
The flop was and Pinho looked as though he knew his time was up but the on the turn gave him some additional gutshot outs but the river was another the and the Portuguese player was gone.
Pinho has his best ever EPT finish and picks up €20,000 for his efforts.
