We all know in this life that the Sun is going to shine, just as we know that "haters gonna hate", but one thing that is just as definite is that Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier doesn't lose the big crucial flips.
He made a cold 4-bet with
from the big blind over the top of small blind Rupert Elder's 3-bet against the button. The button folded and Elder set Mercier in for what was a 110,000 pot with
. Call.
The board came

and although Elder rivered a straight, Mercier already had a boat on the turn. Elder dropped to 18,000.
Anton Wigg very reasonably got the last of his chips in with
on a

flop but was up against the flopped flush holding of
. The Swede gained a few extra outs on the
turn but the
river only improved him to a straight and he was sent to the rail.
Vanessa Selbst has been eliminated after she check-raised on a flop of

and her opponent floated her with
, backing into a diamond flush on the
turn and
, Selbst had
and looked more than slightly annoyed by what had happened.
That is not a typo for EPT fixture David Sonelin. He is huge chip leader.

While David Sonelin remains at the top of the chip counts, several big stacks have suffered serious reversals of fortune in Level 8 - may we point your attention in the direction of Rupert Elder and Toby Lewis, waving the UK flag now a little less vigorously. Also Erik Cajelais and Michael Tureniec have experienced the giddy heights of the chip lead at some point today but both are now under the average stack (50k or thereabouts).

We found Terrence Chan pushing his stack across the line on a

flop and turning over
. His opponent flipped
and the rest of the board was dealt, bringing Chan absolutely nothing.
Turn:
River:
Angel Guillen is up to 85,000 after he held
all in on the turn of a

board against
. The
river changed nothing and the Mexican is looking very comfortable.
Tristan Clemencon has been knocked out after he was all in preflop with
against
but the board brought both an ace and a six and the Frenchman is pushing up the proverbial daisies. (Thanks to roving reporter Gloria Balding for this one!)
We only caught the river action, but it was significant - Ben Wilinofsky moved all in for a roughly pot-sized 60,000 or so, the board reading

. His opponent, who still had 100,000 behind, tanked for a while. He growled, then laughed, and after a little while he folded.
Wilinofsky didn't show his hand and is up to 120,000.
