Vamplew raised to 5,100 from under the gun and Marcellino Terracciano three-bet to 15,200 from behind. Everyone folded around to the Scot who moved all-in and Terracciano snap-called.
Terracciano:
Vamplew:
Vamplew was in terrible shape but would still have had plenty of chips should he have lost. He needn't have worried as a queen on the flop and then a queen on the river game Vamplew quads and left his Italian opponent simply stunned.
Andrew Teng is up to 180,000 after betting out 48,800 on the river of a board. Daniele Mazzia tanked and tanked but eventually folded, leaving himself in poor shape on 75,000 - around half the average.
There was around 200,000 in the pot by the time we arrived on the river of the board, and it looked as though online qualifier Antonio De Salvo had gone all in. After a long period of eyeing him up, Samer Rahman folded, almost half his stack disappearing into De Salvo's. "Wow," he said, "nice hand. Ace-king hearts. I think."
Victor Ramdin is currently in possession of 380,000 - that looks to be the chip lead at the moment. Furthermore, he's just been moved to a table with Carter Phillips. The EPT Barcelona winner has dropped a little from his earlier high of 400,000, but he's still at 320,000 and is not to be messed with. Arturo Pierantoni at that table is also in possession of a hefty stack - around 300,000 - and we wouldn't be at all surprised if we see an über-stack emerge at this table as the day progresses.
Fabrizio Cataldi opened preflop to 5,100 before Alain Roy made it 12,500 in the blinds. Call.
The flop was and Roy led out for 15,500, Cataldi raised to 34,000 then Roy reraised to 65,000 and Cataldi moved all-in for 141,000. Roy now tanked for several minutes, it was cost him about two thirds of his remaining stack to call but he ended up folding instead.
"Show a nine!" shouted Ruben Visser. Cataldi turned over for just a gutshot to much giggling from the Dutch Team PokerStars Pro. Roy dropped to 120,000 while Cataldi has about 220,000.
Ted Forrest, who seems quite happy to quietly get along with his job while the cameras tend to follow some of our louder participants, has just won yet another pot to push him up to the 180,000 mark.
Forrest fired 6,000 on the flop, 10,000 on the turn and finally 20,000 on the river. Raffaele Arena just called him down the whole way but shook his head when Forrest turned over . Arena flashed - "Wow," said Forrest, relieved he had hit the flop so hard.
Simeon Naydenov seems to be in free-fall after losing over 200,000 chips in the past level. He nows has 112,000 in chips and has fallen from the top of perch and lies with the middle of the pack.
We caught up with one of his losses on a flop of . Naydenov had checked the action over to his opponent who bet 15,700. Naydenov put enough yellow chips into the middle to put his opponent all-in and he called instantly. Naydenov was holding and his opponent held for trips. We just caught the very end of the hand, with Claudio Marino checking and after a pause Vanessa Selbst checking behind on the river of an board. Marino turned over but it was no good - Selbst turned over and boosted her stack to 275,000. She asked him whether he would have called a bet on the river; he didn't seem certain.
