Players are on a 15 minute break once more.
Diego Testa raised to 4,800 from under the gun and John Eames called in the big blind. The flop was and Eames check-called a 4,800 Testa bet. The turn was the and again Eames check-called; this time for 10,000. On the river we saw the make an appearance and Eames checked to Testa who fired his third consecutive barrel for 21,500.
Eames played out the hand in his head but was having difficulties making a decision. In the end someone called the clock and with Testa shouting in his ear to fold Eames did in fact fold. Testa smacked the felt in acknowledgement of his good fold and turned over a pair of kings for a flopped set.
Tom MacDonald is hovering around between the 90-120k mark. It seems every time we walk past the table he is playing in a hand. Here he was clashing with Daniel Sjogren.
MacDonald raised to 5,100 and Sjogren called after asking for a count. The flop was a very black and both players checked. The turn brought some colour to proceedings with the but neither player fancied having a bet. A fourth spade landed on the river in the shape of and almost inevitably it was MacDonald who fired first. The bet was 9,000 and after studying the board for a long time Sjogren surrendered his hand to the dealer.
Tiziano Bellagamba had moved in for his last 14,100 on a flop of and Anthony Kozlowski raised all in behind for 85,000. Sergio Castelluccio tanked for several minutes before folding his hand and Bellagamba turned over the which was surprisingly ahead of Kozlowski's .
The turn meant it was all over and the river was rendered meaningless. Kozlowski is up to 130,000.
Shander de Vries has been eliminated, all-in with against Francesco Testa's but the board came and the Dutchman was knocked out.
Benjamin Pollak was sitting on 44,800 when he woke up with pocket kings on the button. Joe Coraci found pocket jacks in the cut-off and the result was inevitable. The kings held their ground and Pollak now has a stack to work with.
Jean-Philippe Rohr opened to 4,700 and Sandeep Khosa shoved for around 33,000. A couple seats down Nicolas Yunis reshoved for around 125,000, prompting an epic dwell from Rohr. Eventually he folded though, and the other two were on their backs.
Khosa:
Yunis:
"F*** me," said Khosa, with feeling.
Board:
Khosa valiantly called for the ten that would have brought him a straight on the river, but instead it came down a jack making Yunis a full house. Yunis is up to 165,000.
Erik van den Berg and Fernando Brito are going to have to wait until Madrid to try and win an EPT Main Event title. We do not know the exact details of the bust-outs but they have definitely been eliminated.
Almira Skripchenko has been knocked out after her last 20,000 went all in with against and the French lady lost the race.
This makes us all sad.
