Nicolas Yunis opened to 100,000 on the button and Max Heinzelmann made it 245,000 to go from the small blind. Yunis shoved, Heinzelmann called, and they were on their backs.
Yunis:
Heinzelmann:
Board:
With that, the overnight chip leader was gone. Heinzelmann is now looking in even better shape to make consecutive finals - he's at well over 3 million.
Massimiliano Manigrasso limped on the button and Rupert Elder checked. The flop was and Elder won the pot with a 65,000 bet.
Massimiliano Manigrasso then decided to raise instead and he made it 110,000 from the cut-off. Elder again called, but this time from the small blind, and the two of them shared their second successive flop together.
Flop:
Both players checked.
Turn:
Elder bet 185,000 and Manigrasso made the call.
River:
Elder bet 210,000 and this Manigrasso folded handing Elder his back-to-back victories.
EPT Berlin runner up Max Heinzelmann has picked up a pot of well over a million and is looking in excellent shape to make his second consecutive EPT final table.
We caught it on the turn, the board reading . Heinzelmann bet out 155,000 and both Max Lykov and Roberto Spada called behind to see a river. This time the bet from Heinzelmann was 325,000 and Lykov called (Spada folded). Lykov soon mucked, though, as Heinzelmann revealed for two pair.
Xuan Liu opened up with a bet of 105,000 from the cut-off and Costantino Russo moved all-in from the small blind for 980,000. Massimiliano Manigrasso acted as though he had a big decision in the big blind before handing the dealer his cards and then Liu asked for a count.
It is all a question of ranges and Liu must have thought her was ahead of Russo's shoving range because she made the call. As it turns out Russo was actually stronger than Liu thought he was with .
The turn brought additional outs for Liu but the river failed her and Russo doubled up.
Max Lykov opened to 105,000 in the cutoff only for Luigi Pignataro to make it 290,000 from the big blind. Lykov four-bet to 475,000 - but Pignataro five-bet all in and Lykov snap-folded. The EPT Kyiv champion is down to around 2.5 million. The Italian challenger meanwhile is up to around 2.6 million.
Antonino Venneri raised to 100,000 from UTG before Francesco De Vivo made it 250,000 on the button. It was passed back to Venneri who quickly moved all in and De Vivo looked in agony at his 950,000 chips remaining and eventually opted to fold his hand.
Venneri showed him and De Vivo flipped which brought an impromptu round of applause from the Italians at the table.
It's all getting very cautious on the outer table but here are the last few hands from there:
Rupert Elder opened to 105,000 and won the blinds and antes.
Elder opened to 105,000 again but folded when Xuan Liu made it 260,000 from the cutoff. "Dynamic established," laughed Elder.
Francesco De Vivo opened to 105,000 and won the blinds.
Liu raised to 105,000 and Antonino Venneri called next to her to see a flop of , Liu continued with a bet of 130,000 but folded when Venneri snap-raised to 500,000.
Liu raised to 100,000 from UTG+1 and won the blinds.
Constantino Russo raised to 105,000 and won the blinds.
The very short-stacked Marco Fabbrini opened under the gun to a rather suspicious 125,000 and Diego Bolzoni flat-called to see a flop. Fabbrini bet out, again not all in - but he soon called all in to the shove from Bolzoni. Unsurprisingly, they were in possession of two monsters:
Fabbrini:
Bolzoni:
The academic turn and river: and respectively.
Both players took their chips back, and play continues with two full tables.
