Makiievskyi Steps Afoul

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player in middle position opened to 525, and he was called by Liutauras Armanavicius (cutoff) and Alain Roy (button). In the big blind Anton Makiievskyi squeezed in another raise to 2,200, folding the initial raiser out of the way. Armanavicius and Roy both called, though, and they went off to a three-handed flop.

The dealer spread {9-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {2-Spades}, and Makiievskyi continued out with another 4,000 chips. Armanavicius didn't waste much time calling, Roy ducked out of the way, and it was heads-up the rest of the way. The two men checked through the {10-Hearts} turn, and the river {J-Hearts} filled out the board. Makiievskyi figured another bet was in order, and he made it 7,000 to see his cards. Armanavicius called rather quickly once again, and Makiievskyi could only turn up {Q-Clubs} {7-Clubs} for the airball. His opponent's {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} was easily best, and the November Niner has dropped back to about 18,000 with that loss.

Lodden's Top Pair Loses to Akkari's Overpair

Andre Akkari
Andre Akkari

Team PokerStars Pro Brazil member Andre Akkari raised to 525 from late position and fellow Team PokerStars Pro from the Nordics team Johnny Lodden three-bet from the small blind to 1,500. Akkari called and the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Lodden bet 2,250 and Akkari called.

After the {Q-Clubs} landed on the turn, Lodden fired 3,800 and Akkari made the call after some deliberation. The river card was the {3-Spades} and Lodden fired 10,725. Akkari called.

Lodden showed the {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for top pair, but lost to Akkari's {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for an overpair.

Giving

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

After both players checked the turn on the board of {K-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, Matt Waxman bet 800 on the river. His opponent made the call by literally reaching across the table with the chips and dropping them as close to Waxman as possible as to say, "Here, I'm giving you these." Waxman showed the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and his opponent quickly mucked.

Too Good from Selbst

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst just showed her class by winning a healthy sized pot out of position versus Domantas Klimciauskas.

She raised from under-the-gun and was only called by Klimciauskas on the button on the way to a {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop. She continued for 700 and called when her opponent bumped the price up to 1,800.

The turn came {a-Spades} and Selbst check-called a 2,800 bet before checking again on the {2-Spades} river. Klimciauskas was in no mood to slow down and fired 6,500 into the middle. The American thought for two minutes before raising up to 24,700 and this promoted a quick fold from Klimciauskas. She's up to 58,000 chips.

Reijmer Gifted a Double

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Mario Paganelli limped in from the small, and Daniel Reijmer raised to 600 from the big. Paganelli called, and he check-called another 800 chips after the {J-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {K-Clubs} flop. On the {5-Spades} turn, Reijmer fired another 2,200 at the pot, but Paganelli snuck in a check-raise to 7,000 this time. Reijmer flatted now, and Paganelli surprisingly checked in the dark before the {6-Hearts} river. Reijmer took his cue to bet another 11,250 (leaving 8,025 behind), and that sent his opponent deep into the tank. After some time, Paganelli shoved all in for the 19,275 effective chips, putting Reijmer to the test for all the chips.

He didn't like it, but the Dutchman had little choice but to call with {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}. Paganelli tabled {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} like it was the nuts, but bottom pair was indeed second best here.

Reijmer should be over 55,000 after that big double, but we'll have to wait for him to stack up a little better before we can count him down any closer than that.

Power Poker from Kenney

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Bryn Kenney just applied the ultimate pressure on Benny Spindler by asking him a question for his entire stack.

The two had made it to the river where the board read {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and 14,200 had made it into the middle. Kenney was in the small blind and threw 20,000 into the middle, enough to cover Spindler's remaining 15,000 and change. The German thought long and hard before he gave up on the hand.

Reijmer Three-Bet Folds

After a player under the gun min-raised to 400, action folded a couple seats over to Daniel Reijmer in middle position. He reraised to 1,100. Play folded back to the original raiser and he put in a four-bet to 3,400. Reijmer quickly pushed his hand forward to the muck and gave it up.

Don't Bluff the Wolf

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Elmar "The Wolf" Dirnberger saw me passing and interrupted a hand he was involved in to say, "This big German poker magazine once wrote, 'Don't bluff The Wolf as he is always hungry'."

He then nodded towards his neighbour Valentyn Shabelnyk and conntinued, "I bite him a little bit only!"

The Austrian is certainly a welcome character on the EPT
