Break it Up

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

We've hit the end of another level and the beginning of another break. We'll be back in 15 minutes.

The Gods Must Be Crazy

Marton Czuczor raised first into the pot from the cutoff seat, and Carlos Yerbes Gonzalez gave him action, coming along from the big blind as one of the shorter stacks left.

The dealer spread out a {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {3-Spades} flop, and Gonzalez let Czuczor bet 38,000 before check-raising to 138,000. He only had 201,000 left behind, and Czuczor considered for ages before reraising all in over the top. Gonzalez couldn't have called any quicker, and the cards were soon shown down. Czuczor flipped over {Q-Spades} {5-Spades} first, and Gonzalez let out a a bit of a teasing cackle, flipped up {Q-Clubs} {8-Spades}, and celebrated with his friends nearby on the rail.

The turn {J-Diamonds} was a blank, and it left Czuczor drawing dead to the last two fives in the deck. As if a punishment for his premature celebration, though, the poker gods dropped the {5-Diamonds} off on the river, sending a frustrated Gonzalez spiraling to the rail. Czuczor knew it was pretty dirty, and he politely waited until his freshly eliminated opponent paced away before allowing a broad grin to come across his face.

That knockout gives the Hungarian a big chip boost, and he's approaching 900,000 now as we are down to the final 28 players.

More TV Table Action

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The TV table seems to be producing the most action at the moment which is a little annoying as access is still hard.

Martin Schleich just doubled-up Andras Kovacs to around 320,000 chips after they got it all in on a {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. Schleich's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} failed to avoid the outs required by Kovacs' {k-Spades}{j-Spades}. The turn and river ran out {j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} to make the flush.

He's a Twin and Has a Double

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Matthias De Meulder has doubled-up at the feature table. Again, we have limited information, but we do know he had pocket kings and got action from Andres Kovacs with pocket nines. The kings held up and the Belgian is up to 1,400,000. We think Kovac is down to less than 200,000.

Contreras with a Big Five-Bet Shove

Sigurd Andreas Eskeland raised from the hijack seat to 37,000 and Javier Contreras reraised to 86,000 from the cutoff seat. In the small blind sat Raul Mestre and he four-bet to 158,000. Action folded back around to Contreras and he five-bet all in for 1.215 million in chips. Mestre tanked for a couple minutes, but finally folded his hand.
