The Limper Takes One from Veldhius and Darcourt

From under the gun, a player limped in before Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis raised to 650. Guillaume Darcourt made the call from the hijack seat and the limper also called.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and action checked to Veldhuis. He bet 1,400 and Darcourt made the call. The first player check-raised to 2,800 and Veldhius called. Darcourt also called.

The {2-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and the first player fired 3,750. Veldhius and Darcourt both gave it up and let the preflop limper take the pot.

Schedule Update

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The tournament staff has just announced that eight levels will be played without a dinner break on both Day 1s. That should keep things nice and early today and tomorrow, allowing the players an evening to eat, relax and enjoy with friends and family.

Defending Champion Loses to Jacks

Action folded to the player in the hijack seat and he raised to an unknown amount. In the cutoff seat sat defending champion David Vamplew. He reraised to 1,700 and the original raiser called to see the {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. The hijack checked and Vamplew bet 2,150. His opponent called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and the hijack checked again. Vamplew stayed on the grass and fired 5,150. Again, his opponent called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Hearts} and both players checked. The hijack seat tabled the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Vamplew mucked his hand, dropping back to 15,700 in chips.

More Late Arrivals

Ana Marquez and Bryn Kenney are known for being the new successful poker couple on the scene, mostly due to Marquez's deep run in the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure that led to her signing as a Team PokerStars Pro. What's interesting today is that the two of them are seated right next to each other at the same table. We'll be sure to keep an eye on things above the table, but unfortunately won't be able to report on any footsie playing below the table.

Binger Mucks

After an opponent checked the final board of {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Nick Binger fired 1,525. His opponent made the call and watched as Binger simply tossed his hand into the muck. His opponent tabled the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sevens to go along with the deuces on board and won the pot.
