Demjan Bests Greenstein with Trips

After Sandor Demjan checked the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, Kevin Iacofano bet 4,200. Team PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein called and then Demjan called.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and Demjan checked again. Iacofano didn't bet this time and checked to Greenstein so he could do the honors. Greenstein fired 8,000 and Demjan called. Iacofano folded.

The river completed the board with the {J-Clubs} and both Demjan and Greenstein checked. Demjan tabled the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Greenstein mucked.

Chartier Takes a Hit

From early position, Mattias Bergstrom raised to 1,800 before action folded a few seats over to Joris Springael in middle position. He reraised to 4,100 with 19,000 behind. Play then folded to the big blind and there Sam Chartier sat. He four-bet cold to 8,000. Bergstrom thought for a minute and then moved all in for 45,700. Springael tanked himself, but folded. Chartier made the call.

Chartier had called with the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, but ran into the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} for Bergstrom. The board ran out {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Bergstrom successfully doubled up.

Vitagliano Busts One

[Removed:40] just eliminated George Hassabis. Vitagliano held pocket aces -- {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} -- and Hassabis held the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} with all of the money in preflop. The board ran out {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} to give Vitagliano a sweatless win.

Golczyk Bests Demidov

From the cutoff seat, Ivan Demidov raised to 1,800 and overall chip lead Lukasz Golczyk called from the big blind to see the flop come down {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Golczyk checked and Demidov bet 2,500. Golczyk made the call.

The {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn and brought a second diamond to the board. After Golczyk checked, Demidov bet 6,000. Golczyk again called.

The {6-Diamonds} fell on the river and completed a backdoor diamond draw -- pay attention to that. Golczyk checked straight away and Demidov took his time. Eventually, he checked behind and didn't fall for the trap Golczyk was setting. Golczyk tabled the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the nut flush to beat Demidov's {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and win the pot.

Vanessa Rousso (Day 1b)
Vanessa Rousso (Day 1b)

Action checked around between Vanessa Rousso, Barny Boatman and Elliott Peterman on the flop of {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts} before the {K-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. There, Rousso fired 2,000 and Boatman folded. Peterman made the call.

The {7-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Rousso checked. Peterman bet 5,500 and Rousso tank-called.

Peterman showed the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Rousso mucked her hand.
