Chip Counts: Tables 21-34

Here are a collection of chip counts from the bottom half of the tournament area.

Juha Helppi Himself to Ivarsson's Stack

Juha Helppi

Juha Helppi's day is going swimmingly well so far. He was already in profit but now he has more than 50,000 chips after he eliminated Alexander Ivarsson.

The two were heads-up to a {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-} flop where all the chips went flying in. Ivarsson opened the drawing {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, behind to the Finn's {10-}{8-}. The board bricked out and Ivarsson made his exit.

Martin Jacobson is Eliminated

Martin Jacobson is a surprise early exit from EPT Copenhagen. We reported earlier how he lost a hand against Igor Pihela that left him perilously close to an exit, well Pihela has just finished him off.

Jacobson open shoved 1,300 with {A-} {5-} and received two callers. One of those players was Pihela who held {A-} {Q-} and Jacobson was out.

Lodden Puts Down Books, Picks Up Pot

Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden has been busy reading a book on the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic but it was not doing him any favours it seems because the moment he put it down he would a pot that sees him back up past his starting stack.

Ciorabai Ferdi opens to 400 from the hijack and both Deres Gerasimos (button) and Lodden in the big blind make the call. The flop came down {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, Lodden checked, Ferdi checked, Gerasimos bet 800 and only Lodden called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and both players checked. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Lodden lead out with a bet of 1,125 and Gerasimos instantly called.

Lodden turned over {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and it was enough to win the pot because Gerasimos mucked his hand.

A Woeful Start For Jacobson

Jacobson needs some help here at EPT Copenhagen
Jacobson needs some help here at EPT Copenhagen

It was only yesterday when Martin Jacobson posted a status update on his Facebook page that he was here in Copenhagen for the Swedish Championships. Unfortunately for Jacobson he is going to have to pull some special magic out of his top hat if he is going to be the Swede that wins this championship after an appalling start.

Igor Pihela limped into the pot and John Eames did the same before Jacobson raised to 550 from the cutoff. Both Pihela and Eames made the call and the three of them found themselves staring at a flop of {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} {10-Clubs} which was checked through. On the turn the dealer handed them the {5-Clubs} and Jacobson bet 900 when checked to. Pihela made the call, Eames got out of the way and we saw the final card of {A-Clubs}.

There was around 3,300 in the pot when Pihela bet 10,000! Jacobson made the call and Pihela showed down {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} for the flush and Jacobson mucked his hand.

Battle of Belgium

There are not that many Belgians who travel the poker circuit, and why would there be? It's a small country and they have a smaller pool of players to choose from.

Kenny Hallaert and Kevin Vandersmissen are two that we do see often and they have been drawn together today, and just battled in a hand.

The latter raised from the hijack and the former defended his big blind to see {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Vadersmissen continued for 475 and Hallaert check-called. The turn came {q-Clubs} and Hallaert check-called a 975 bet. Both players checked the {q-Diamonds} river.

Vandermissen sheepishly opened {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, and lost out to Hallaert's {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.
