All Friendly on Table 22

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We are down to 50 players so the money bubble is well and truly looming in the tournament area as only 48 players will be paid.

Anders Andersen open-shoved to 22,000 from the cutoff and the action folded to Mikhail Petrov in the big blind.

"You're a nice guy. I don't want to have to bust you," said Petrov before checking his hole cards. He obviously did not like what he saw because he passed, and was shown {A-Spades}{K-Spades}.

"Russia is a beautiful country," exclaimed Andersen, referring to Petrov's home nation.

O'Dwyer Bluffed?

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Ronnie Rasmussen open-limped the small blind before calling Steve O'Dwyer's raise to 10,000. The flop came down {2-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Rasmussen bet 11,000. O'Dwyer sat and studied his opponent for close to a minute before saying "Nice hand" and folding his won.

Rasmussen showed the {6-Spades} and started to stack his new found chips.

Helppi Four-bet Shoves

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Victor Ilyukhin opened the betting to 5,100 from early position and when the action folded around to Anthony Hnatow on the button he three-bet to 13,700, but that was not the end of the betting because Juha Helppi four-bet shoved for 54,100. Ilyukhin waited for close to 90 seconds before folding but Hnatow took less time in sending his cards back to the dealer.

Zeev Doubles Up On The (Almost) Bubble

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We joined the action on a {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} board having seen Malki Yaron Zeev bet 26,500 and then Juha Lauttamus move all in, covering Zeev.

Zeev said, "I really have to go with this, " and called, before standing and turning his back to the table.

Zeev: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Lauttamus: {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The river card was the {Q-Clubs} and Lauttamus has to donate 138,100 chips to his opponent, but he still has 278,000 at his disposal.

Kevin Iacofano Soft Bubbles

Magnus Hansen has made sure Kevin Iacofano won't be back to the final this year. The American came into today as one of the big stacks, suffered early on, and was on the way to recovery before he ran into a monster hand that belonged to Magnus Hansen.

The two had made it to the river with 40,000 in the middle. The board read {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Hansen led for 23,200 from big blind. Iacofano raised to 55,000 from under-the-gun, with a little less sat behind. Hansen put his opponent to test for the rest as he shoved. Last year's fourth place finisher thought for a few minutes and made the call all in.

"I have the nuts," said Hansen and tabled {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for quads. Iacofano mucked and quietly left.

We are now on the bubble and hand-for-hand play is in progress at the PokerStars EPT Copenhagen Main Event until we lose at least more.

An Embarassing Moment For O'Dwyer

O'Dwyer made to look silly on the bubble
O'Dwyer made to look silly on the bubble

We were playing on the money bubble when Ghattas Kortas and Steve O'Dwyer tangled in a pot that left the American with a slightly reddened face.

O'Dwyer had around 30 big blinds when he started the hand and Kortas was quite deep. Kortas raised to 7,000 in early position and O'Dwyer made the call on the button. The flop was {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} {2-Spades} and Kortas bet 8,300; a bet that O'Dwyer called. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and this time O'Dwyer called a 17,600 bet. By the time the {7-Diamonds} hit the river there was a huge crowd developing on the periphery. Kortas bet 35,000 and O'Dwyer went into the tank. Then as the crowd started to encroach even more, O'Dwyer released his hand and Kortas showed a nine high bluff.

Pop Goes The Bubble! Mikita Badziakouski Busts In 49th Place

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The bubble has burst here at the European Poker Tour Copenhagen Main Event, Mikita Badziakouski is the unfortunate soul who will be the last player to go home empty handed.

He got his chips in with {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} preflop but was called by Anthony Hnatow and his {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and when the board ran out {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} it was game over for Badziakouski and everyone else had made it into the money. Kerching!

Ducks Don't Always Win

Kenneth Laursen is the second person to finish in the money. He got the last with his chips in with {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and was looked up by Melanie Weisner holding the mighty {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

"Ducks always win," shouted Laursen .

He was wrong though as the board ran {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to bust him.

Weisner is struggling to see over her tower of chips now. Good job there's a colour up at the end of this level.

Varonen Doubles Up Bjarke Hansen

The action folded around to Bjarke Hansen in the small blind and he raised into the big blind of Lauri Varonen. Varonen decided he didn't like that, and moved enough blue chips across the line to put Hansen all-in. Hansen snap-called and Varonen had a miserable expression on his face when he saw Hansen's cards.

Hansen{A-Hearts} {3-Clubs}
Varonen{A-Clubs} {J-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} and Hansen doubled up.
