Three More Eliminations

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Back in September, Thomas Muhlocker defeated Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu to win the European Poker Tour Barcelona €10,000 High Roller for €390,700. Muhlocker was looking for back-to-back high roller titles, but that won't happen as he was just eliminated in unknown action.

Likewise, Martin Finger, who won the EPT10 London £50,000 Super High Roller last week for £821,000, has also been eliminated from the tournament.

At the start of the EPT London Main Event (which you can follow live updates from by clicking here), 45 players signed up for the Skrill Last Longer competition. Yesterday, Leo McClean emerged as the winner.

For those unfamiliar with the promotion. The Skrill Last Longer competition will be held at each stop on this season’s EPT, of which they’re an official sponsor. The promotion is simple – players sign up for the promotion either online (preregistration is available) or at the Skrill booth (which will be present at each stop); don a Skrill patch; and then aim to be the last man or woman standing. The last player remaining will then receive the £5,250 buy-in back in their Skrill account, which is what McClean won.

While Skrill is upping the ante for Season 10 with a bigger branding initiative, this isn’t their first appearance on the EPT; as a matter of fact, they were a sponsor of Season 8 and have held previous “Last Longer” promotions.

The company’s website provides a bit more information on Skrill, which rebranded from Moneybookers back in 2010:

“Skrill has been moving money digitally since 2001. We offer online payment solutions for businesses and consumers, allowing them to pay and get paid globally. Over 36 million account holders already trust Skrill. Our customers can send and receive money worldwide in 200 countries and 40 currencies, securely and at low cost, without revealing their personal financial details. Your business will benefit from our worldwide payment network with over 100 payment options. Whether through a simple one-step integration or a fully-tailored payment solution. Whoever you are, however you like to pay or get paid, trust Skrill to make your online payments simpler, faster and safer.”

Headquartered in London, Skrill is looking to make their presence known in the poker world with a commitment to customer satisfaction through innovation and service. Not only that, they’re looking to be more than just a company by becoming a trusted and respected member of the poker community.

What's more, PokerNews and Skrill have joined forces to offer our customers a free $20. All you have to do is use your Skrill account for the first time to fund an online poker site. It's that simple.

So how does it work? Once you upload funds to your Skrill account, you can distribute them to anyone with a valid email address. In addition, Skrill is accepted as payment across most major online poker sites, meaning you can quickly and easily deposit and withdraw your funds without having to have gambling transactions littering your bank statements! What’s more, Skrill offers its customers a Prepaid MasterCard that can be used in 100,000’s of locations around the globe.

How do you get a free $20? Just follow these simple steps:

  • Register for a free Skrill account.
  • Upload funds to your new Skrill account or directly go to a poker room and choose Skrill to make your deposit.
  • Make a deposit of at least $20 onto an online poker room.
  • Skrill will add $20 to your Skrill account within one business day, which you can use to redeposit to a room right away.

As mentioned, scores of online poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker, PKR, Titan Poker, bet365 and Betfair accept Skrill, so you can make your first deposit onto a major player in the online poker room.

Adams Gets Lucky

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Tobias Reinkemeier
Tobias Reinkemeier

Timothy Adams moved in from the button for 69,400 and Tobias Reinkemeier reshoved in the small blind. For a short stack shove and call, they both had the top of their range.

Adams: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Reinkemeier: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Adams hit an ace to double and leave the German crippled.

Devilfish Folds Half His Stack

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Dave Ulliott
Dave Ulliott

On a {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Shawn Buchanan checked across to Joel Nordkvist and the Swede bet 15,500. Dave 'The Devilfish' Ulliott put in a raise to 42,000 - seemingly committing himself wih only 46,000 left. Buchanan meanwhile, folded.

It was passed back to Nordkvist who thought for about two minutes before setting Ulliott all in. The Englishman looked nonplussed. After some huffing and puffing, he muttered something about the fact that he would've called if Nordkvist had quickly moved all in instead of taking his time.

Ulliott flashed the {J-Hearts} and folded to leave himself very short.

Reinkemeier Doubles

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Tobias Reinkemeier was all in for his last 20,000 or so. Erik Seidel had made a small raise but the dealer had caused some confusion by telling Timothy Adams the wrong amount. The floor was called and Adams was allowed to take back his chips and given his options again - to which no-one complained. Adams folded and the other two opened their hands.

Reinkemeier: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Seidel: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The flop was good for the German coming {Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs} but the {3-Hearts} turn meant we were heading for a chop, but the {J-Hearts} river gave Reinkemeier the better two pair and he doubled up.

Khaitan Busts Brammer

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We're not sure when the chips went in, but we can confirm that Chris Brammer was just eliminated by Abi Khaitan. Brammer had the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} laid out in front of him on a {7-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board while Khaitan had the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. No matter when the chips went in, the result is the same... Brammer has been eliminated.

Devilfish Doubles Through Duhamel

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Action folded around to a short-stacked David "Devilfish" Ulliott in the small blind. He didn't have many chips left, but he still opted to limp. Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel was in the big, eyed up Ulliott's remaining stack, and then dropped in a stack of blue T5,000 chips. Ulliott slowly and deliberately stack up his chips and call off for 34,900 total.

Ulliott: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Duhamel: {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The wily veteran had gotten just what he wanted, and he was rewarded for the slow play as the board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} to give him the double.
