We're on the bubble here in Prague as just 152 players remain, two players, on different tables, busted on the first hand back from the break.
Christian Golob was all in for 105,000 with and Aleksey Ponakov had the board meant Golob was gone in 154th.
A few seconds later there was another all in and call, this time it was EPT8 Campione champion Jannick Wrang who was at risk, he was all in for 68,000 with and up against Sergey Baburin's . The board gave Baburin the win though and sent Wrang to the rail on the 'soft' bubble.
Players are now on their first 20-minute break of the day. The tournament clock shows 155 players remaining, which means just four more need to hit the rail before the money is made. Stay tuned!
We got to the table just as Bejjani Kamal bust out holding on a Queen high board but was outkicked by Joe Laming from the UK. Kamal stormed away angrily from the table leading Ana Marquez, who had been chatting to him earlier, to comment “Oh my God, his wife is going to kill him for going out before the bubble.”
Eugene Katchalov opened to 6,000 and was met by a three bet to 15,000 by Tapio Vihakas. A couple positions down someone with a wrong id-card shoved all in for 28,900. When action back on Katchalov he made it 58,000 to go which forced out Vihakas.
Katchalov had and was up against . There was some paint on the flop but neither would set up: . The on the turn did nothing and the on the river didn't either. Katchalov picked up some much needed chips while his opponent had to depart.
"Good luck all" he said to the table while making a big sigh.
It's been a rough level for Walid Bou Habib, who began the day as the chip leader.
In a recent hand, a preflop raising war resulted in Artem Metalidi getting his stack of 105,000 all in preflop holding the , which was well out in front of Habib's . The board ran out an uneventful and Metalidi doubled through Habib.
One name that keeps popping up here at the EPT Prague is Skrill – which isn’t a player, but rather an online payment solutions company that aims to evolve “the way people pay and get paid globally.” Skrill is branded throughout the venue and also have a booth where players can sign up for their popular "Last Longer Competition."
The Skrill Last Longer competition will be held at each stop on this season’s EPT, of which they’re an official sponsor. The promotion is simple – players sign up for the promotion either online (preregistration is available) or at the Skrill booth (which will be present at each stop); don a Skrill patch; and then aim to be the last man or woman standing. The last player remaining will then receive their buy-in back via their Skrill account.
While Skrill is upping the ante for Season 10 with a bigger branding initiative, this isn’t their first appearance on the EPT; as a matter of fact, they were a sponsor of Season 8 and have held previous “Last Longer” promotions.
Here in Prague, 191 players (19% of the total field) signed up for the competition, though only 40 of them made it to Day 3 including Denys Drobyna (Ukraine), the winner of the Last Longer in the EPT Prague Season 8.
Here's the long list of 30 Skrillees still in contention at the start of Day 3.
