Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jussi Nevanlinna shipped his last 52,000 all in from the button and Max Lykov called from the small blind.

Lykov: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board came down {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and Lykov's pair of kings ended up as the best hand. Nevanlinna hit the rail while Lykov's stack increased to about 835,000.

Jouhkimainen's Wild Ride

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Joni Jouhkimainen has gone from zero to hero in just two mere hands.

It all began when Jouhkimainen got his short stack of merely 73,000 all in before the flop holding {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Jouhkimainen was dominated by the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} of Vojtech Ruzicka.

The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Jouhkimainen was two cards away from elimination. Fortunately for him, the {9-Hearts} rolled off on fourth street and he was able to make a set. The {3-Hearts} rivered and Jouhkimainen was able to score the double up.

The next hand Martin Kabrhel opened to 8,000 from late position and was called by AP Phahurat from the button. Jouhkimainen three-bet to 22,500 out of the small blind and it folded back to Kabrhel who released as well. Phahurat took a moment before moving Jouhkimainen all in. Jouhkimainen snapped him off.

Phahurat: {J-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Jouhkimainen: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The board fell {3-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Jouhkimainen was able to score yet another double up. He's now sporting about 330,000 in chips.

Quoss and Berende Bring us to 24

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Fabian Quoss was all in and at risk preflop for his last 35,000 holding {q-Spades}{10-Spades}, and Artem Litvinov called with {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

"At least I have spades," Quoss joked.

The spades didn't help however as the board rolled out {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Quoss was eliminated.

Paul Berende then hit the rail in 25th place when he ran {a-}{j-} into Max Lykov's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. The ace-king held, and were are now down to 24 players.

Benger Busts One

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Connor Drinan was all in and at risk with {A-Spades}{4-Hearts} against the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Griffin Benger.

A run out of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} ensured that Benger would score the knockout. By absorbing these chips into his stack, Benger is now sitting on about 145,000.

Choraria Doubles Through Voth

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, Kamal Choraria checked on over to chip leader Ronny Voth who fired 13,000. Choraria announced a raise all in for about 133,000 total. Voth thought for about thirty seconds before calling.

Voth: {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Choraria: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Choraria was crushing with his set of sevens and his double up was official after the {4-Diamonds} turned and the {j-Clubs} rivered. He's now sitting on about 320,000 in chips.

Getting Lively With Litvinov and Hot With Lykov but Where are the Germans?

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Neither Philipp Gruissem nor Tobias Reinkemeier showed up for a bumper EPT Berlin High Roller event. What could possibly be keeping them away? Apparently it has something to do with a massive cash game over the road, but at least we have Artem Litvinov, Scott Seiver, Max Lykov et al to keep us entertained. PokerStars Blog explains.

Another Flurry of Eliminations

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Over on Table 3, we found Paul Volpe all in and at risk with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} against Aaron Lim's {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Volpe made a set of aces on a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, but the {j-Clubs} on the turn gave Lim Broadway. The {3-Diamonds} bricked off on the river, and Volpe was eliminated.

Jake Cody hit the rail in a small blind vs. button scenario against Vojtech Ruzicka. Cody's {a-}{j-} was behind Ruzicka's {a-}{k-}, and the ace-king held.

Dominik Nitsche got the rest of his small stack in preflop holding {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} against Jan-Peter Jachtmann's {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The board rolled out {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts}, and Nitsche was eliminated.
