Elder Trending Down

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Rupert Elder
Rupert Elder

Nandor Solyom tossed out what looked like 2,700 on a board of {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Rupert Elder made the call. A third player folded.

The {5-Diamonds} completed the board, bringing a possible flush and a four straight. Solyom quickly moved all in for 10,500, and Elder tanked for a bit before calling. Solyom turned over {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a rivered straight, and Elder was forced to show {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for a pair of kings.

Elder dropped down to 15,100 chips.

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Johnny Lodden
Johnny Lodden

With over 9,000 already in the middle, we came upon the table to find Johnny Lodden and Atila Aydin heads up. The completed board read {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Lodden checked. Aydin quickly tossed 3,000 into the middle and Lodden announced a call.

Aydin showed {Q-Spades}{7-Spades} for a straight and Lodden flung his cards at the muck. This hit brings the Team Pro's stack down to about 23,500.

Berende Busts

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

We spotted Paul Berende walking out of the tournament area moments ago, so we ventured over to the table to see what happened.

According to Marc-Andre Ladouceur, there was an open and a call before Berende moved all in from the small blind with ace-king. The original raiser had aces, got it in, and held against the Dutchman.

Set Over Set Vaults Vassallo to Top of Counts

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

When we arrived at Table 25, Giuseppe Vassallo and Klaus Koszyk were heads up on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Spades}. Vassallo fired out a bet of 8,500, Koszyk put in a small raise, and Vassallo re-raised to what looked like 29,000. Koszyk moved all in for effectively 50,000 or so, and Vassallo immediately called.

Vassallo: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Koszyk: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Koszyk needed the case three to survive, and was eliminated when the turn and river brought the {5-Diamonds} and {9-Hearts} respectively. Vassallo slammed the table in excitement when the river rolled off, then extended his hand to Koszyk as if to say good game. He happily accepted this gesture, then hit the rail.

Vassallo is now among our leaders with roughly 135,000 chips.

Adams Chips Up Before Dinner

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Timothy Adams opened to 1,050 from under the gun, Azad Jabrayilov snap-called on his direct left, and the action folded to Florence Allera, who moved all in for 1,825 from the big blind. Both Adams and Jabrayilov called.

The flop fell {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}, and Adams fired 2,000. Jabrayilov called.

The turn was the {7-Spades}, Adams tossed out a blue T5,000 chip, and again Jabrayilov quickly called.

The river was a third four - the {4-Diamonds} - and Adams announced that he was all in, making it 11,600. Jabrayilov sighed, then folded {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} heads up.

Adams turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} for sevens full of aces, and Allera was forced to show {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} before exiting.
